how can you get more top end on the Hawk???

No , were talking about well tuned bikes with the correct exhaust . The 05 GSXR makes 175 to the rear . Yamaha 168 ...same dyno .

Someone asked about real world . Again , a 1995 ZX-600 with it's 14k redline will walk on a VTR in any gear other than 1st from any speed . You would think a bike with that big of a rpm spread would be gutless in the midrange , not so . An 899cc ZX-9R anihilates the piped and jetted VTR , alot worse than the 2005 ZZR600 will .

Real world there . As for the magazine numbers being posted , it's just a reference point is all .

I'm not knocking the Superhawk . I said it is what it is . Mucho better than that 800cc VFR Honda makes IMO .. in all but tank range anyway but the SH does have it's place in the food chain . No denying it . Well you can but ................

Yep, quite so - I agree with all except about tuning...

Revolution Racing-tuned VTR makes around 150 BHP at rear wheel, real-life version of it (one that keep honda reliability) makes healthy 135 and walks on lot of bikes - Performance Bike had an review on that series, those RR bikes owned now by quite usual guys, not racers. Conclusion of ride was that those VTRs have "04 Mille up the wall arms behind back" and that it was one of best rides they had ever. But - what's the point? I myself actually waiting for either Honda to make 1000+ cc VFR or Suzuki to make Stratosphere - that'll be tempting

Yep, and BTW - at roads where I touring supermotards and VFRs and VTRs makes open-class sports life really bad. Beats me, but that's fact. I saw it million times - nuts french guy on 91 VFR humiliates r6 competent rider... I don't get it - why??? I wish I'd be able to ride like that...
And those guys love V-twins, V-fours, monos but hate i4s, because as per them "we need pulsating power on rear wheel"

He He , they are just afraid of big horsepower Just kidding .

The V's have a few inherent problems on the race track but nevertheless the gyroscopic feel through quick set of esse's feels kinda neat and what works best at the track does not always equate to the best street manors . Most of it is in the eyes of the rider and what he wants , or can put up with .

Speaking of the race track , the MotoGP Ducati seems to be the most raw and unruly of the bunch . If I could have a street version of any of the MotoGP bikes it's the one I'd pick . Seems to have some character in it for sure .

Back to topic , cams and headwork will pick up the power on the SH but going fast costs and it depends on if you like your bike enough to sink a few grand into it to keep up with your rivals on less costly and newer bikes . Go different than the Moriwaki cams though and the crank is liable to snap . A weak link when building that RC51 engine as well .
