F4i REAR caliper

There are many threads on the F4i front brake swap. I have did that swap, calipers and master, and I am very happy with the results. At the same time I installed Galfer SS lines front and rear and EBC HH pads front and rear.

The rear caliper and master are the stock VTR units. Does anyone see a reason to replace the rear setup with F4i's (or any other type)? Also, the EBC HH pads are stintered, any advantage to Kevlar in the rear? I have seen some mention of that on other threads. I know that the rear brake is not where the stopping power is needed, I was just wondering about the effectiveness of this swap. Thank you.

I have measured the calipers from 929/954/RC51 (SP1/SP2) and they have the exact same dimensions on the internal parts and same outer dimensions... One difference is the placing of the bleed nipple and brakeline are reversed on some of them... There are small differences in some of them making it neccesary for different pads, but that's seems to be only because Honda wants to sell you different part numbers...

I haven't checked a F4i rear caliper, but I doubt it will be much different...

And as for different compounds... I'd stick with stock... All the other compounds needs to get heat in them before they start being effective, and then they fade less once they are up to temp... But since you use the rear brake only short bursts at the time balancing the front, I have never experienced them to fade... But I can imagine the panic if it wont bite when I need it...

I have had EBC Kevlar pads in the rear caliper. After they wore out, I went back to the stock pads. I didn't notice any difference. As Tweety points out, the rear brake is used only momentarily.
I bought the EBC Kevlar pads because I didn't want the bite of the HH's at the rear and I thought they'd be gentler on the rotor.
