carb coolant hoses

Took my carbs off and adjusted the needle height this weekend. Forum is great and I knew this would fix my flat spot and it did. I found out I am missing a bunch of hoses. The two hoses for overflow/vent for tank are missing, the two overflow hoses connected to the carb bowls are missing, and all the hoses that allow coolant to warm the carbs is completely missing. I do not know what they even hook to. My question is...do I need to rehook this heat circuit back up. At what temperature will I need the coolant to keep the carbs from freezing? I don't plan on running my bike below 40 degrees, am I safe at this temp? Everything was running fine before except for the flat spot at 3500, which is gone now.

Also my pair valves were backwards . Not the reed stopper but the whole assembly was upside down and there was a bunch of carbon in there.

I have all that stuff the exact same way as you do. So do many of us here. Those are all common mods done mostly do simplify things. Do some searching around here. There is lots of info on all of it.

My mistake. I still got all the overflow hoses. Maybe not absolutely necessary, but it's a good idea to have them on there.

Lots of people remove the carb heating tubes. Unless you are riding in really cold weather you are unlikely to have any big issues.

I'd consider getting the overflow/vent tubes back in there though. Otherwise you can end up dumping gas on your hot engine if you overfill your tank or tip over the bike.

worse, you allow dirt to get into the system much easier without the snorkel tubes installed.
