Bar ends Please

A little over three years ago, I wanted to see how cool my hawk would look sliding down 5th street in Philly. I don't think it looked very cool although I can't remember, but anyway I destroyed my bar ends and the anchors inside the bars, so I had to switch over to aftermarket bar ends with the sandwich type rubber washer. If my memory serves correct I remember threads inside the bars to attach the original bar ends to. These aftermarket ends keep coming loose and I would like to go back to the original ends and need to know if I need new bars or is there something I can stick inside the bars to grab the bolt that holds the end on. My bars are totally empty inside and I need to know how the original ends attached. It was so long ago I can't really remember.

There is a heavy metal insert which doubles as a weighted vibration damper and also as an anchor for the bar ends. Around this insert are two rubber pieces and a toothed clip-like insert. These are the pieces that hold it in. Each are available through Honda. Go to ronayers.com for parts fiche and fairly decent prices. Servicehonda.com has the best prices I've found.
