Bafflectomy.... any input on its effects on bike?

Bafflectomy.... any input on its effects on bike?
I would like to know if anyone here has performed the bafflectomy procedure on their OEM exhaust?
how does the bike sound afterwards? annoyingly loud or throaty deep?
what are the side effects on performance? Any rejetting required?? (of course, there are changes in the flow and so rejetting is recommended, but is it required??)
are the instructions and diagrams right and complete? what else do I need to know if I were to try this??
thanks in advance.

No rejetting required, or needed. It deepens and loudens the tone quite a bit but is still below the threshold of any aftermarket exhaust. It's quite nice.
Just like doing a bafflectomy on any bike's stock pipes.

I don't think you need to. I assume exhaust will always be flowing out of the exhaust valves in the engine, so there is no way for the shavings to find their way back to the inside of the engine.

Re: Bafflectomy.... any input on its effects on bike?
I like loud pipes, and when I cut the baffles out it still wasn't loud enough. I had my brother ride my bike so I could hear it. When you are riding it it IS louder but from a distance it still sounded stock, just a small bit deeper. Soooo, I got to thinking and went to Home Depot for some tools.
I bought a 1" hole saw and a 12" drill extention and drilled two holes the the second baffle. Then slid the saw down the small tube and drilled a hole in the third baffle. Then went through the holes I drilled the the second baffle down to the third baffle and put two more holes in it. It really opened the bike up and man it is way louder but also sounds VERY good, deep and throaty. Not just my opinion though, several other sport-twin owners complement the sound and ask what brand of pipes I have. It is loud and will set off car alarms(definite coolness factor). But I believe in the theroy "loud pipes save lives" I have rode in a car next to my bike and you can feel it even with the window up. A friend of mine had an RC51 with Erion pipes and mine were quite a bit louder and just as deep sounding. I like it, but my opinion is the only one that counts for me. I figured that if I screwed up the pipes, there are plenty to be had on ebay.

I performed a bafflectomy and its is freakin LOUD, but it sounds sweet, definitely an attention getter. worth doing though, no perfomance gain, I didn't rejet mine and I've had it that way for about 2 years, with no problems. I reccomend disabling the pair system as well to get rid of the popping on decelleration. we have some sweet sounding bikes.
