15T fr 44T rear?
I've been rockin' a 15t countershaft sprocket and really like the improvement. I would like to bump the rear up to 44tooth from 41t stock, but I have very few miles on the chain and don't want to have to replace that too...
Anyone run a 15/44 final drive with the stock chain? Was it long enough to get the specified amount of chain slack?
I'm cool with moving the adjusters in... I think I'd actually prefer to move them in. While I love the 15t, I wasn't too stoked on increasing my wheelbase. I preferred it the was it was before.
Anyone?
Thanks!!!

Yeah..i'm running a 15/44 combo at the moment & I must say its a BIG difference...
Firstly, I am using the standard chain but this required removal of the front sprocket to get the chain over both sprockets..then re-install the front sprocket.
The rear wheel will then be at its further most forward position on the swingarm. This has the effect of reducing wheelbase by 25 - 30mm & reducing rake on the front end.
The speedo is quite significantly out & if your worried, might have to be recalibrated..(I'm not so I haven't + If I go back to normal, I dont want to have to change the speedo again).
It wheelstands very easy now..comes up in 3rd & will require you change through the gears quite quickly to hold it up..(i've managed to get into 6th gear on the back wheel).

Re: 15T fr 44T rear?
Excellent.
It's a win-win...
1. It fits... no new chain.
2. Shorter wheelbase. Let the mono mayhem begin... er, continue
Speedo... ahh, who cares. I'll eventually get around to re-calibrating once I decide on what final drive I prefer.
Thanks for the info...
The tip about removing the front to squeeze it on will come in handy.
I'm surprised that it provides enough free-play give that it's such a tight squeeze... it really fits, huh?
Thanks again.
