It’s been covered here a few times .. There are three choices.
Weld in some threaded bosses
Drill and install threaded inserts
Forget the spools and use a lift that goes under the swing arm.
I bought a swing arm to do the welding option, then decided , just to use an underarm stand..
There are proponents here of both the first too methods, they have their reason not to do the other way..
As far as we have heard, neither method has caused a swing arm to fail.. so I’d say no real evidence is out there one way or the other. The OEM drills holes in the swing arm.. The OEM welds on the swing arm,,,, Me, Once I find a donor swing arm,, I’m doing a brace and spools.....welded all the way.

you could do a top hat setup that is threaded on the inside, goes thru both sides of the swingarm and gets welded on both sides. This would prove to be very strong. all you have to do is make the part or have it made. For me this isn't a big deal, but for most this would suck.
