Skidmarx belly pan ?
#4
Just got my Skidmarx belly pan in, but my initial excitment was tempered by the impact damage the nose of the fairing suffered during shipment. Instead of shipping it back and waiting another few weeks for a replacement, I elected to take a discount on the item and try and patch it myself.
After looking around a bit, I couldn't find a black gel coat repair kit. The closest place that carried a multi-color kit was quite far, and mail order was going to take some time. So I used JB-welb on the fiberglass (back), and touch up paint on the shiny side.
I could have done a better patch job, but it isn't so noticeable.
Here some pics with it on the bike. I much prefer it over the stock chin fairing!
The mounting hardware was first rate! Instructions were a bit cryptic (what is 'near side', or 'far side' anyway?), and they didn't illustrate where the parts went on the bike - just pictured the brackets themselves. However, it was fairly straightforward to figure it out.
Fit and finish was great. I'd highly recommend them!
