RC51 fairing

What all modifications need to be done to get an RVT fairing to fit the hawk? Getting ready to put my hawk up for the winter and trying to figure what I want to do next.

That is a hard question to answer... It depends on what fairings you are going to put on...

If your going with stock fairings, or stock replacement fairings, your going to have to make up your own mounting brackets to match up with the mounting points of the RC51... I have not had the chance to take stock RC51 fairings and test fit them on mine, so i have no clue where exactly these mounts would be, so it could be a piece of cake.... but i'm not sure anyone has done this...

The pre-painted ones in China on ebay are going to mount just like stock ones, so same theory..

Now if your doing race fairings, mounting is actually fairly easy... I did have to do some trimming and cutting on the fiberglass, so you really want to make sure your comfortable with the idea before jumping in... I do my own painting, so that was cheap... but if your sending out for paint, that could create some big cost depending on who does it... Because the race fairings are not drilled for mounting yet, you have the ability to test fit them, alter them a little to your preference and drill your own holes.... I used my stock fairing brackets, just moved them and they worked fine. The other thing to consider is the headlight... your stock light will NOT fit behind the RC fairing, so cutting a hole for the stock light is not an option... (i thought about it, and tried) with race fairings, you may not need custom brackets, but you will need to customize your headlight...

if your good with making stuff work, go for it.... i'm VERY happy with mine.
