Well, I don't sniff Hayden's or Pedrosa's jock hard enough to paint my **** that way, and I don't want to associate myself with the CBR race replica wanna-be crowd to the cops who don't know any better. Besides, there already exists a very nicely done factory Repsol replica on the CBR's, and I would have bought that one had I wanted one, thank you... I want my bike sporty enough by day and also classy enough to ride in a tuxedo like I was James mothfukkin' Bond taking ***** Galore to a dinner party by night, bitches!
I have a degree in advertising art and design, I am familiar with color triads, tertiary color schemes, triangular proportion blah-blah-blah... I want black, red, and silver or gold, on a scheme that nobody has, with a suggestion of Honda wings, not the stupid three angled stripes that EVERYBODY puts on their ****... I took the implied wings of the XR 650 and modified those... the ones I have shown in my sketches are exactly that, sketches, and are not the final product. They are however, close enough in shape and scale that you guys can get the drift. I have also decided upon the first one, as my gut reactions are always right.

HA! I been waiting for someone to ask!
Truth be told, it's a work in progress, but basically: laced 17" Akronts, took of all body parts, modified the seat with a raiser rear/cafe look, lowered forks, slapped on a 7" round headlamp w/ front bikini fairing, and put on a chrome Dunstall-type megaphone exhaust...
I will post pics of what I have done so far if there are any curious onlookers.
The only thing I am waiting to do now is find a good (somewhat reasonably priced) aluminum tank fabricator who is willing to work with me on fabbing up a polished manx-style tank to complete the transformation...
Anyone with any info on that subject, PLEASE let me know asap... that bike is so much goddamn fun to blast around on, and I am itching to finish it.

well, considering how fast the wheels get dirty....they only match when the bike is 100% clean! so it's not that big of a deal. Unless you're willing to wash your bike every week, just about any color won't match when dirty.

Truer words were never spoken, RPV... I am seriously considering just polishing the outer lip for now. That way I don't have to do much work and I can clean them relatively easily.

The first pic looked sick, with the black, red and gold, but I would agree with some other posters - and you here in this quote - that it would look cooler without the white..

I actually quite like it. The only problem with the white on the back is the stark white background making the back end look bobbed. Try changing the background and I think it will give it a whole new dimension.
