photoshopped paint scheme

The Superhawk needs to be three colors. TOTAL Cases, Aluminum, seat color - all of it - three colors max. This can get expensive but it really makes for a much cleaner looking bike. Search for Shayne's posts on his Firestorm - truly good looking bike!

I like it ! I think it would look great on my 99 , with the dark graphite rims and engine cases . I think the gold rims & engine cases is clashing with the black and red . I would like to see it photochopped with the darker rims and engine cases .

Well, I was shootin for a white numberplate effect, maybe it didn't come across that way. I am sick of black wheels, I don't know man, something about the '05 black Supes with the gold wheels that I just love... I want to do the wheels in a similar color to my engine cases and fork, a sort of bronzish gold. I also was thinking maybe silver, or polished wheels. I love photoshop for the "test before you paint" thing, tho...
I am getting the Leovince exhaust which is why I used that pic, to see the full effect.
I definitely agree on the "get a lower" tip. Might just get a belly pan tho.
Here it is in the stock wheels/cases, and then with polished wheels and closer to my stock color engine cases and fork.

Can somebody give me a quick lesson on photochopping? I am painting my hawk over the winter and am pretty set on a scheme, but it would be fun to play with different stuff while i'm at work.
I think i'm gonna do half black and half red with an offset racing stripe like a Duc to blend the colors. Nothing too loud, just different color bike on each side so its harder to find. hehe

Hot, basically what I do is use the magic wand t select all of the body parts that're red, copy it and paste it on top and turn it black. Then I delete the parts that will be red so the underneath shows through. Then I cut out the number plates and paste it again, and turn that part white. Then do the same for the wheels... This way, every part is seperate, and you can just change your layers different colors... AND +1 on the Marchesinis!!!
Thumper, I am going to do just what you suggested with the red inline on the white panels... good call!

I was considering a similar look and Tapeworks.com has a lot of black & red stripe schemes available. Now for some reason, I'm starting to lean toward a semi flat black Ducati Monster type of paint job with Fire Storm emblems.

What do you mean, with ducati style racing stripes up the middle? I love that... I almost did that on my bike.

Supermarto, one side of the bike is gonna be black, and the other side red. I will probably use red as the base color and then have an offset black stripe run the length with a thin red stripe and then solid black. I'll draw a pic later.

Not to muddy the waters too much, but Alsa Corp has some pretty cool special effect paints. http://alsacorp.com/paints.htm

How about making the wheels red like the stripe. There is not much of the color on the bike and it would definitely make it stand out.
Hotbrakes, I can show you a few things using Photoshop. Send me a PM as to what you want to do.

I think about the bike in terms of three triangles. They all gotta work and they all have to be cohesive. That's like glue.
The first triangle is formed by the bars and down the frame through the swingarm. The triangle in front is the front cylinder, header and oil filter, the third triangle is the tank and seat subframe to the back. Three colors - use them wisely.
Along those lines, imagine the Repsol colors on a Superhawk painted this way.
