GAUGES

Does anyone know if 01 02 gsxr 1000 gauges will work on the superhawk ,I know theres a way to use 929 gauges as well, also maybe even the kwakasaki 636 gauges, those are nice and compact. Just wondering cause I'm streetfightering my superhawk and don't like the look of the stock gauges, and aftermarket has'nt turned up anything useful yet. Suggestions, anyone?

i'm not sure, but i imagine a honda unit would be more bolt on than anything. i believe kai ju used 929 gauges, and all he had to do was get a speedo correction box.

Re: GAUGES

It was almost that simple.
The biggest hurdle is the gauge gangplug.
Honda does not use a standard connector but luckily uses pretty much the same wire colors for the the same functions across the board.
What you need to do is get the meter ***'y of your choice, determine what wire color matches what function and splice the meter harness to the mainharness.
Tedious but not all that hard.
Have fun,

Kai Ju

I put an '01 RC51 gauge cluster on my 'Hawk, it worked out well till it broke. The wires are the same except for two. I used the FI light for my sidestand indicator. There is a German company that make an after market gauge called MotoGadget they have made some for the VTR1000F.
