Man, don't you just love how the sun glistens off that first blue one.

I'm sure it rode better than it looked, too!

Definitely can tell that the majority of everyone favors high mount exhaust.

I have considered these all for a few days. Congrats to all and thanks to Inderocker for what must be a lot of behind the scenes work putting it all together each month and then this sum up at the end.

they are all special. I looked at them with my own personal bias. They all look great, Inde's and VTS in particular look really nice - that paint color really helps the bike.

But for me it comes down to a combination of function first, form second, both obviously important.
We all know the suspension (front and rear) is bad as delivered, so if this hasn't been upgraded before cosmetics, it doesn't make my top list - fork swap and shock (sorry vtrrumble, hrcvtr1000, tangostorm, tdogg, drewc14 and inderocker).
One of the best things about the SH is its a practical sportbike, good for track and trips, so it has to be good for long and fast rides, so the bikes sans fairing don't make my top cut (maverick, VTS).
The engine is also lacking, so engine-performance upgrades move bikes up the list for me (sorry cursio). Upgraded wheels help the performance and the looks so again a big plus. Making it all hang together so it all looks like it was intentional matters also.

With my priorities at least, I'm left with Tweety and RCVTR's bikes. Though all are great bikes, these are the two I would enjoy the most.

Its nice we all have our own priority list - something for everyone.

Cliby, using your system, it really only leaves Tweety as he has also done the swing arm swap to get the rear up to par with the new front..

I am not using the same system you are though so I am still thinking about my vote, they are all great bikes!

Just like in January I will decline to vote for a motorcycle that no longer exists, so that eliminates my first choice which is RCVTR's bike. That leaves Tweety and VTS for my choices.
I went with Tweety for the quality of the well chosen mods and the fact that they were executed in a way that leaves the bike looking almost like an OEM product in spite of the fact that almost none of the bike is standard.

I ended up voting for the only one I have seen in person. (Inderocker's)

They all have their own charm though.

Thanks Lazn!

I guess I should post up a photo of the VTR when it had the RC51 front end.

I like seeing how my VTR could look naked... if I had the time and skill! VTS got my vote!

Thought I'd add a few new as requested.

Front view: really shows off how narrow the bike is. Sorry could'nt get my shadow out of the pic.

Direct side on view: A few people have asked for this but I did'nt have until now.

Took these pics this A.M. (26F degrees, cold one for WA).

Indierocker why did you go away from the RC front end?

I voted for you in October. I pulled a Hawkrider and voted for me this month guessing you would vote for you and we would be even! Oops....

My favorite bikes would have to be Cliby's, Hawkrider's, Tweety's, and Indierocker's.

Indie, I did not have the time, and I learned.... don't be scared, right?

I love touring on the VTR, but I couldn't find a handlebar setup that was comparable to the Helibars on the stock front end (at the time). I was also trying to get into a house (which has been put off for at least another year) So I sold the setup to raise funds for my down payment. Kinda wish I still had it, I really miss those front brakes! The re-valved stockers I have now work great, although not as rigid as the RC51 forks, of course.

I've heard in certian circles that the 51 forks are 4+ pounds heavier than that of 929/954assemblies. Anyone else hear this...?

Is it safe to assume that all the bikes here are still with their submitting owners or still on the road? Just curious...

I would imagine so. The RC51 forks a a bit longer, at least the SP1's are.

it was tough picking just one I went with the VTS. Lots of effort went into these bikes. Congrats to everyone...they are all outstanding examples.

And further to Curt's credit: He lurked here for two and a half years while building VTS.

Thank you everyone, for everything.

My wife and kids were really excited to hear that the bike won!
They said "so what did you win?"
I replied.... The fine folks at the superhawk forum came up with.....

-one year unlimited supply of egg nog. (I think I'm going to put a 250 gal tank outside right by the propane tank, Then run a line to a fixture by the fridge, kinda like a fountain drink)

-I get to choose a superhawk to take from any member of the forum "for free" (look out Cliby, Tweety)

-Free one years subscription to the "unofficial superhawk forum website"

-A killer cool calendar featuring all the monthly VTR winners for 09'

-And to top it off I get to sit down with a few folks at Honda to "discuss" the new VTR for 2011. No linked brakes, no gee whiz gadgetry, just a little more of what we already have.

I'm looking forward to what new "improvements" we will make to our bikes in this upcoming year. Happy new year to all, best wishes for 2010!

Oii! It's bad enough to be runner up... Now you gonna take my bike as well?! Your a mean person...

Nah, seriously man, congratulations on the win... It's very, very well deserved... I usually dislike streetfighters vehemently, but yours I like...

Oh, and don't worry about improvements... I have a long list to work of... And every time I manage to check an item of, mikstr adds another for me...
