Contender out there???
A few years back I remember seeing a VTR with a single sided swingarm,
opposite exit pipe, wrapped headers, single rear cowl, and the bike was red in color. What happened to that bike?
Would be a good contender for VTROM..........

Hah, that was about a year and a half ago! You should see me now! The funny thing is that I think the more gray hair I have the faster I get! The nice thing is at least I have my hair...unlike my Dad...

[QUOTE=inderocker;241492]That would be epleeds VTR..
Actually it is Brian L's off the superhawk.net site of greg's. In pics gallery that I remembered.
Almost the same bike though. I remembered the rocks or ocean in the background. Also single rear cowl. Is this the same bike as epleeds? Just new owner and changes?????
Anyways tough choices this month. Great bikes all.

Yea,
its brian's old bike. I sold my rear section to Cliby and went with the stock rear to keep me closer to the ground. Did a repaint and new exhaust.

Really tough choices this month! Indie, I got an idea. With some of these guys - most of the quality builds - there is a common thread: These owners have taken their bikes through several incarnations to get to where they are as riders and bikes are as machines.
All of the riders this month are without question valued members and participants to the forum. The thing that is not spoken (unless you been here) is the resume of the bike.
With tough choices this month I would invite this accomplished group to offer a brief resume of their bikes and the mods through the years. Even then, it's going to be a tough call. You all can be proud of your bikes and your contribution to the sport.
Bravo!

davidsdailey: really like the paint scheme - nice job.
I also like the white paint on a bike - greg, do you have a side pic of the bike?
Eric - the tailpiece worked out great. I like the riding postion and a lot easier to move around on it.

This has the old Hindle exhaust on it. I then went to a single sided Moriwaki exhaust. I now have the high mount Jardines.
[EDIT] This is probably breaking the 3 pic rule, but since someone asked here's two links to better (and much larger) pics:

I have seen Greg's bike in person and it is one of the best Super Hawks I have ever seen in person. I guess it probably is the best looking one I have ever seen. Very clean, cool custom paint job and lots of trick bits.
This month is gonna be a tough choice.

Bikes not done, but I'll enter
Bikes not done but I’ll enter.
Who is to say I can’t enter again next year if I get spanked by Gregs fabulous limited edition police special, Cliby’s dialed in perfect yellow hawk, Epleeds single sided swingarm full faired sweetheart, Bills clean yet tastefully accessorized classic red hawk, or David’s custom painted blue w/checkered flag 996.
I really think this is why this particular model is special, all these choices and more.
VTS is a 2001 Superhawk, V-Twin Shitbox
Purchased from salvage yard, good items on it at time of purchase; Swingarm, rear wheel and brakes, frame, and engine. Starting point for a project bike. Approx 4-5k on bike due to chain adj and stk D204s still on bike. Yes it was painted chameleon orange, burnt red, yellow, green. Horrible, horrible. Most everything was damaged and or missing. (V-Twin Shitbox)
Bike now has….
CBR929RR front fork, wheel, calipers, rotors
CB919 headlight side brackets, headlight, front brake master cylinder
CB1000 Clutch master assembly
CBR1100XX foot pegs
CBR1000RR meter assembly, frame sliders
VTR1000F brand new fuel tank and rear cowl, new 05’ Titanium color.
Carbon fiber front fender and rear hugger
Vortex billet upper triple clamp, powder coated
Fatbar mini
Asv shorty levers
Rizoma mirrors
SS lines front, rear, and clutch
Heated grips
Devil high mount mufflers, cerami-coated flat black
Stk headers wrapped with thermo-tec header wrap
Engine covers rt/lt, valve covers, calipers all powder coated to match titanium
Frame, wheels, swingarm, and misc hardware powder coated 20% flat black
Custom underseat radiator/cooling system
Earls oil cooler out front
Clear lens led brake light
Small aftermarket blinkers front and rear, Rizoma resistors installed
Factory pro jet kit
Factory pro ignition advance
520 conversion kit (-1) front
Pair valve removal
Emissions junk removal, California bike
Too many parts to list from e-bay and local dealership.
Fabricated brackets, stays, and other misc
Upcoming changes…..
PVM 10 spoke wheels or equivalent
GSXR forks with radial calipers and nitride finish tubes
Wave rotors
Freestyle ingenuity risers, Scott’s damper, longer brake lines in smoke
Vent mesh breathers for rear cowl/cooling system
CBR600F4i rear shock conversion by Jamie Daugherty
Billet shift and brake pedals by Jamie as well
Rear swingarm?? RC51? VFR?
??????????? Suggestions??????????????
I have to say I’ve received so much information over the last three years from this site and it’s members, Kai Ju, Greg, Tweety, Jamie D, and many more. Thank you, without you this bike would not have turned out as it has. I have only recently jumped into the forum actively. As I built the bike I just visited and did searches for any questions I needed answered. Now I just need to ride it! Thank you all again!

Holy ****! Somebody been busy! If you don't win this month, VTS, you should damn-sure win Rookie of the Year. Great job. Only Superhawk I've ever seen where the Clear Alternatives lense looks good. On your bike it fits right in with the Anthracite. I've never been a fan of wrap but the Devils and mids look great. Really incredible build for such a short time and what you had to start with. Original and very well executed. You can hang with these guys any time. Congrats!

Busy working on the bike, or busy earning my stripes as a post whoring newbie.
Probably both.
The header wrap grows on you, esp with a naked bike. It makes the headers look fatter and gives them texture. Viseral if you will.
Thanks for the complement, I'd take rook of the year.
