New Member - New Bike
Hey guys, my name is Gabe and I am from NE Ohio.
I just picked up my Superhawk last week, and after browsing the forum decided to join. I was just about ready to sign papers on a new Suzuki, but decided to get something I could just pay cash for. Very glad I did! (so is my wife!)
The bike is a 2004, and I just rolled it over 8,000 miles on the way home from work today.
It has a full 2 Brothers Carbon Exhaust System and has been jetted to match. It has the lower Targa fairing, and the turn signals have been changed. The original owner also had an ipod/xm radio hookup installed, but I think I will be removing that as I don't see myself listening to music while riding.
I just had two new Dunlop Qualifiers on it by Crooked River Ducati, and they were great to work with. The tires were the originals, and the rear was down to the bands.
The only things I may do in the future would be the integrated led tail light, undertail kit, and possibly a new windshield. But I am in no real hurry as the bike is great as it is.

Oh, and welcome aboard and GO HAWKS!

Welcome nice bike. FWIW not to totally disagree with skokievtr but I never have had problems a bobbed fender in the rain, and lord knows I get enough practice with that around here. Anyways, also the helibars are only needed if the stockers make your wrists hurt, or make you uncomfortable somewhere else. JMO others may feel differently about it. I actually find the stock superhawk bars and windshield just fine for me, but I am not a big guy. So enjoy the hell out of it then change what needs to be changed for you to enjoy it even more.

The exhaust is my favorite part of the bike. The 2 Brothers setup with the twin sound is so throaty.

welcome.TBR pipes sound great, don't they...and like the lower fairing.
Hawkrider (forum owner) does great fork updates, and reasonable.
Helibars worked out great for me - my back was giving me problems.
Can't ride at all now - fractured my hand. At least 8 weeks of the cage.
Everyday tasks have become interesting left-handed.
Have fun.

Good looking bike, but not as fast as yellow and black. I'm 6'2" and like the standard fairing and stock bar location, but mine are Vortex clip ons. Don't mod anything until you feel the need. Greg Nimish does a great job with the Hawk forks for a reasonable price. You will probably feel the need for that first.

Welcome!
Looks like you got a great bike. I'm with you on the sounds...the best sounds while riding are the ones you're making with your machine. Enjoy the torque!
Oh, and by the way...I think the Red Wings suck. My wife and I were pulling for the Coyotes. I'm a Ducks fan myself, but their season was over a few weeks ago.
I have a Lockhart Phillips dark smoke screen on mine, stock height, and it looks great and cost less than $50.

Great Score! I'm with the others. Ride it - wear your gear and get used to it before you get stupid with it. At 8K you got a lot time to think about changes. Some may have been done already. Sounds like you have a good dialogue with the PO so next time take notes. If he did jets he might have done some other stuff while they were in there. The knowledge base here is broad and in depth. Want to learn about your motorcycle - forget your personal life for about 10 months. Happy Trails!

Yeah, I am an ATGATT guy. I never ride without my leather and lid. Never have, never will. I friend of mine who I have ridden with for years was in an accident last year. 16yr old kid pulled out in front of him and his wife on his Honda. He has been riding for over 30 years, but that doesn't stop stupid people in cages. Him and his wife were wearing helmets, but that is it. Watching them try to recover and heal for the past year only reaffirmed my use safety gear.
My previous bikes have been cruisers, so the Superhawk is a new feel. So far I don't have any discomfort, and see no reason to change. I am sure as time goes on I will find some things to change to my liking, but for now I am just enjoying the bike.
