indicator wiring

hi everyone.
i,ve just about finished my streetfighter but for one thing, the indicators.i want an idiot light on my new vapor speedo to flash when either the left turn or right turn is flashing but only using one idiot light. i tried taking a feed from each of the original idot lights but it only feeds back and puts all four indicators on not good. then i tried using the feed to the idicator switch , this works the indicators ok but the idiot light flashes all the time. anyone got any ideas ?
thanks twidge

A pair of diodes should work for ya. One on each wire (lt blue and orange). Then connect both diodes to the hot of the indicator light. Solder them on where the little silver ring on the diode is closest to the light.

thanks for the reply gregw i thought about doing something like that. just had another brainwave/stupid idea if i ran the green wire from the relay up to the idot light then earthed it out would that work as well? i,ll go have a play and find out seen as maplins electrical shop is closed now.

Question indicators

hi
i tried splicing a bulb into the green wire it works in a fashion. by using different wattage bulbs either the idiot light isnt bright enough or the indicators themselves flash too quickly. i tried putting an led in the green wire but the led lights up but then the indicators wont work? i think i,ll try dropping the wattage of the indicators themselves [from 28watts to 21 watts and see if that makes a difference]

sorted !

hi everyone
just to let you all know i,ve sorted my indicators.
i used a universal 3 pin indicator relay:- ran the white/green wire to the + terminal the grey wire to the L terminal cut off the green wire and ran a new wire from the p terminal to the single idiot light then to earth. hey presto everything works fine.
twidge.
