well the 900 has the same kind of fork as the SH, so it's clipons would work with the stock front end.

The other 3 are all 50mm and I don't know if any of them would have enough rise for use in a swap. I have swatts with 3.5" of rise on mine and they are still lower than the Helibars on yruyur's bike. (unless you can put them above the upper triple, but I think you need RC51 forks for that)

No stock CBR clip-on is usable for a swap... Period... They are all to low by far...

The Suka TL stock bars work, but have a wierd angle on the bars so not for all...

Other than that you are either looking for Helibars for 929/954 or something "custom" or adjustable... Like Swatts, ConvertiBars or similar...

I ran 954RR clip on's above the clamp (854 as well) for a shirt time. They had a lot f rise, just barely making it under the fairing at full lock, but the had a pretty steep rake. I found a set of 954RR Helibars on eBay, and those were extremely comfortable, however they would hit the fairing pretty easy when mounted above the 954RR triple. I purchased an RC51 triple and was going to mount the Helibars below it, which I think would of worked out beautifully... but I ended up selling the front end before I could do that.

Indierocker: Did you have your forks pushed up higher in the triples than I do? Or were the clipons only halfway on the forks? I only have about ~10mm of fork leg above the top triple (not counting the purple cap) if I put much more than that the bike is twitchy and the fender easily hits the bottom of the fairing.

edit: pic for example

I used RC51 SP1 forks which are longer than the 954/929's.

I think there is a very good write up on the 929 transplant in the knowledge base. I remember printing it and adding it to my file - lots of pictures and quite complete. 43mm tubes iirc. Minimal clearance probs.

For aggressive riders above 185 lbs this is the easy platform. Hawkrider did the 1krr transplant and I think that got him where he wanted to be. But he's real fast. Every time I get on the bike I am reminded this is like riding the gooey noodle. The engine just toys with the metal that surrounds it.

I have mine flush and it's still quick. I would worry about ground clearance going any lower with the front.

There are pretty good writeups for all the CBR fork swaps, I think. The fork tubes for the 929/954 and 1000RR are all the same diameter.

I think you're right killer. If I remember the larger triples create greater clearance issues. The 929 was the least of any impact to stock travel.

That's right.. I forgot that detail. lol

With RC51 forks you can do top mounted clipons.

The 929 and 954 triples are the same. The 1000RR triples are slightly wider (I can't remember how much, but Greg (Hawkrider) posted it somewhere.) and the top one has ugly holes for the fancy steering damper that comes on the 1000, so most have opted for the 929/954 items.
All of them definitely limit steering lock unless you do a little grinding of the steering stops and moving of the radiators.

No ground clearance issues where I am at now.. but a big bump will cause the fender to say hello to the fairing. (not hit hard though)

As for running flush, I started out that way, but had a bit of "flop" into the corners that goes away completely by raising the forks those 10mm.
