Meadows of Dan VA
#2
Mine's red. And haven't been to Meadows of Dan since June.
Say, since you're from there.... got a question. Heading south from MoD, there's a curvy road that runs parallel to the BRP for quite a ways. I was in a hurry to get to Tennessee, so I didn't take the time to explore. Is that a decent road... & how far does it go before diverting from the BRP?

Squirrel spur road
If you are inquiring about the road that leads south of 58. on the east side of the parkway, That is squirrel spur rd. It parallels the parkway a few miles, turns easterly and finds the way down to Ararat in a good downhill run with all kinds of twisties. It used to be much rougher and very exiting and dangerous. There was a place about 1/2 way up where you could come around one corner and hit the mound of the apex of the next one and leave the ground for a bit. But they blew a lot of mountain and made it behave. Goobers in cars and trucks now run off a lot and there is always gravel somewhere not good.
I was born near there in Stuart and ride the area frequently.
I will be riding there this weekend, hopefully on my hawk for the first time.
