Been lurkin' for a while...figured now is as good a time as any to chime in! I'm in San Antonio...bought my 2000 SH a few months back when hell froze over. I told my wife she'd never have a mini-van, she told me I'd never have a bike. She now has a Quest, and I've got my Hawk! I retired from the Air Force a few months back and decided to go back to school full time...didn't feel the gas-hog Chevy Avalanche was worth it to just go back and forth to school, so I got rid of it in favor of the bike. We were skeptical at first at how having only one car in the family was going to work out, with 2 kids and all...but there hasn't been too many hiccups.
This is a great site...the guy I bought the bike from recommended it to me.
BTW...I opted for a red SH, heard the other colors were a little short on HP.

There are some cool roads around Wimberly so we could meet up for a little ride and breakfast some time. TexasSuperhawk is in College Station if you're headed east. What member did you get your bike from? One of the guys (Lenard) on here from SA had one of those 1800cc Honda cruisers and tried the Superhawk on a fluke. Didn't fit him very well so I knew he was trying to sell it.

I am located just south of Tyler in Rusk. Been watching and reading for a couple of months and just signed up. My folks live in Blanco and I visit there couple times a year. Great riding in that area as well as around Rusk.

That sounds great! We'll need to hook up sometime...of course it'll be after I get the bike out of the shop. I tore it up just about an hour ago. I was coming home from school when a dude came out of a parking lot and decided to stop dead in my lane. I don't know what he was thinking...he just stopped and was looking right at me. I jacked on the brakes and it ended up underneath his drivers side front, with me on the pavement in front of the car. He backed up, got out of the car, got back in and took off. Thanks to my Air Force paid-for PRK 20/13 vision I was able to get the bastard's plate, and San Antonio's finest got him shortly after. Not sure what happens now...I guess I get his name and bring him to Judge Judy.
