Hells yeah. I have a cabin there. The road from Marion to Burnsville, HWY 80 is a good time too.
I do urge caution - there are some tricky switchbacks and I have encountered gravel in the curves from rain before.

Plus, you can stop at Carolina Hemlocks for a swim, or grill some meats!

Side note: If anyones still considering going to the tail, heres a link to the TOD(Tail of Dragon) i did this year. If you have never been I think its worth going to at least 1x. i met up with some GA riders, 1 on a bmw1000rr and a vfr. ran 30psi front, 32 rear. Nice thing was they had killboy.com, 129slayer.com, and us129photos.com at almost every curve taking pics. Riiding on the ***** of your feet is a must.

That's funny I grew up in the middle of all those roads, NC181, NC221, NC226 and 226A (very fun way to get Li'l Swiz), NC64 74A, and the list goes on.
I used to ride all those roads in high school... lucky I didn't get hurt. Bikes were slower back then, though. I had no idea how good I had it. Now I live in the land of straight roads, and high traffic. Oh well, it's still a blast to have a bike.
My SH just went to the shop to get some details finished and new tires and powdercoated rims. If it is out by the time you guys go, I will try to make it.
