So how did you end up off the track?

wet track. It started raining just as the session started. Three guys went down in turn 7 on the first lap, one of them was a control rider even. About two laps later the guy in the picture below went down on his Ducati. (Man, I'd be totally sick it that was mine!), then I went down a lap later in turn 10b, and just after I went down, another guy went down in 10a. I should have pulled in, but I really wanted to get a little experience riding on a wet track. I was trying to take it easy. I had a rear slip on turn 5 earlier, so was being gentle. I think when I flipped the bike over from 10a to 10b I was too abrupt and the front end slid out on me.

Nah, I don't buy it.. She (the bike) was just tired and needed a nap.

Hope you are ok and that the damage was minor!

Just my luck. I have a lazy bike.

footpeg bracket broke, bent the trake pedal, bent the bolt on the bottom of the master cylinder. No other breakage to the plastics or anything, which surprised me. Scratched the end of the brake lever and bar end, but didn't seem to bend it. Sure picked up lots of gravel and dirt though. :-D

Well I see you have T-Rex sliders on there.. They have saved my bike a few times, worth every penny.

glad your ok, at least you got to ride. we got there on thursday night, and i found a small crack in my clutch cover leaking oil. took the cover off that night and jb welded it up, missed the first session on friday waiting for the rtv gasket to dry. passed tech, went to check tire pressure and my rear valve stem cracked in half. had to go to the dealership down the street to fix that. got back in time for the second session, went out and half way around the track my brakes started locking up. and i couldnt fix it in time. so i drove 8 hours to do a sighting lap.

what a sad superhawk

Dang Jay, I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I had known. you could have taken some parts off my bike because it was sitting at the south end of the pits all day on Saturday with a tarp over it.

VIR in July will be my next outing. Hopefully I'll see you there. I'm riding on Saturday.....assuming I get the peg bracket and brake fixed. :-o
