Who's got a valentine1 (or other radar detector) mounted?

I did 2600 miles on my bike last month, and most of it over the speed limit.

I have a V1 in my car, but it's a bit clunky to put on the bike, and I wouldn't trust the suction cups for a second. I've seen some guys recommend mounting a cordless detector on the helmet, but I've already got a radio on there and there's not a lot of real estate there. I'm thinking of some type of rigid mount right above the guages.

What do you guys have? Maybe a cheapy detector on there that fits in the pocket better?

I've got the same mount (in the fast color, BLUE) and a BEL RX65 Pro. The voice alerts on the earbud are quite effective...

There's a big nut in front of the eyes of the other nut...

J/K...

The steering stem (where the triple is bolted to the bike)... the mount fit's in the hole in the middle of the nut...

Yeah, I went and checked that 10 seconds after I posted. Nice place for mounting stuff. What I forgot to do was come back and delete the evidence of my stupidity.

Seems like I could fab something to move it forward more under the windscreen, maybe a bracket spanning across from the mirror studs.
