Who's got the deals on tires?
I'm looking for a set of Q2's or BT-016 Pros. Spirited street riding is my thing. Who has the best prices right now? I found this at sportbiketrackgear.com. Any better deals out there?

Hate to thread jack, but I am looking to get a set of Pilot 2ct or pilot road. I do not go on the track, so I believe the road would be the best for me. Is there any better prices than motorcycle superstore. If not does anyone have any discount codes for them. Thanks

just installed q2's on mine again ( well had q2 on front and a roadmaster on rear when bought bike) but installed q2's on both front and rear and they ride so oo oo nice sticks great in curves once again.

According to several reviews I've read, this stickiness disappears well before the tread would indicate that it should, so you might be looking for this.

Deals on tires??? Well, have I got a deal for someone within driving distance. $50 for a set of take off pilot race track day tires. Not sure when they came off(couple years on the shelf), but they barely look used. One nearly new (read, less than 300 miles) Avon front, $50. Only those willing to drive to pick up, will not ship. :threadjacked:

+1 on motosport.com
I have dealt with them quite a bit in the past, enough so that when I was in the market for new tires I found them cheaper on another site and called them to see if they'd be willing to price match. They offer free shipping (3 day) on all orders over $99. Good people to deal with.

man you guys get tires cheap down there. in canada we get hosed on rubber pretty bad. we use a place called petes superbike because hes usually about a third of what other places charge and its still more than you guys pay. those bt016s from petes are i think around 285 cdn, i bought them at a shop once for 320 cause he brought a ton in from the states. the bike show wanted 460 for them and when i told him what i paid he said theres no way cause he doesnt get them that cheap, regularly theyre around 600 or more for the pair.

Any input on Battleax bt023gt. Looking to maybe try these out. I went through my 016 pretty fast. Good sticky tire though. Hoping the 023 will have close to the same side bite but harder center on it for the commutes. Plus Im going to try to ride as much into the fall as I can.

I got a set of those on the SVsixfifty now, i was surprised how weel they feel for a harder sport type tire. Wearing really well and traction is great for hard sport riding on street, not sure i would do a track day on them.

I had a set of the original Diablos a few years back and didn't like them much. Haven't tried any of the newer, stickier versions (Rossos), though.

Update. Went ahead and got the Battlax 023gt tire and so far so good. Grip seems to be the same as the 016. Only about 1000 miles on the tire and it looks great. The GT has the harder compound in the middle for the heavy bikes. Im 200lbs and also run bags at times so I wanted to try a harder compound tire. On the twisties they grip fine. It hasnt rained here in months so I cant comment on that but reviews say wet grip is fine.
Good price too.

The new rear has picked up a staple and front is GONE. I thought everybody on the VFR forum would go with the new Pirelli Angel but that hasn't seemed to gel. For guys on this forum that tour and pack heavy having a set of harder tires could be a good thing, too.
