Our "PartsUnlimited.com" guys are local shops that make a buck on your parts but will order you anything. It's a huge network. My local guy in Austin has always done a good job for me. He runs a pre-season special that if you speak for the tires before the first of the year, he books the first order from the plants for shipping the first of new year. For us in Texas it was a lucky draw last year. All the defective tires were shipped to the northern climes. All of us got our tires at great deals - Cycle Gear was a major player as well.

I got my last set @ http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/. Prices were comparable with everyone else's, but I bought there b/c they had the right size tire for my wife's EX500.
FWIW, I got Metz Z6 Roadtecs for the 'hawk.

Ebay usually has some good deals. Got a set of Metzeler Sportec M-3's for $235 shipped. The Bridgestone BT-021 for $100 is an awesome deal too for a great tire.
The real question is, what tire do you want? Which is best for the SH? How many miles do you want to get? What type of riding do you do? Why do dunlops seem to suck? Why are Shinkos so cheap? Are they decent tires?
Good luck!
p.s. Maybe you should spread the load out with the front tire every now and then and your rear won't wear out as fast! JK I suffer from the same addiction.

haha i went ahead and ordered the metzler sportec m-3 from motosport.com i got it for $154.99 shipped in 2-5 days. i didnt get the free 2 day express shipping because for some reason they have to deliver tires ground shipping only. other than tires and chemicals everything over $100 is free 2-day express shipping.

My local Yam/Kaw dealer uses tires as a loss leader. But if you mail order, DennisKirk.com(partsunlimited really) usually has good deals.

race take offs aren't usually good for street use. If they are actual race tires they only have 3 to 5 heat cycles before they are too hard. Also race tire generally are hard to heat up on the street which means not too much traction when always cold so for $40 maybe not the safest thing to do considering tire are what keeps you from crashing most of the time. I use Pilot Roads right now and got them from Chaparral Motorsports fast shipping medium pricing but never any trouble so I trust them. Also a good idea to find out the age of the tires you are ordering. Good Lck

Sorry for misinformation, $20 shipping - received visa bill today, didn't read fine print, tires excluded from free shipping.
