Installed my new RC51 SP2 master & fixed the exhaust leak.

Tomorrow, wire in a volt meter and install my new Watsen flush mounts.

HAHA! THAT is why my battery is always running hot and low on volts!

I have that same guage as volts and one as a thermometer for ambient temp.

Guess I got a bit mixed up.

It is a 2002 C-10. It has 52,000 on the clock and looks new. I installed the overflow tubes in the carbs to keep it from hydrolocking and I measured the piston crowns to make sure it hadn't. The only thing that will kill a Connie is a hydrolock and they will do it. If you plan on buying one make sure the conversion is done.

I haven't checked for hydrolock yet because I'm afraid to know. I got my '03 with 79k and some work had been done recently . It got a new petcock and carb kits, plugs, valve adjust and more.
I bought the bike from a buddy of mine who had not had it long. He had the work done but never liked the bike. It split the difference between his 'Ager and his ZX-10 so he never rode it.
I have had the bike well past the ton and it will sh*t and git there too. It's probably fine but I'm not going in there just yet.
And the Free Power mod works! Would probably work on the SuperHawk too, going to look into that.

Ive seen that vid and did wonder if it would work. I wonder if it would fix some of the Hawks little issues.

Im keeping my eye out for C10 here. They are pretty cheap.

That guy knows his stuff, that is the vid I followed. After I rode the Connie with the mod the first thing I thought was why not the VTR.
Best I could describe it is it was the difference between the K&N filter (not recommended for the Connie either) and the OEM filter on the Hawk, much smoother, revs easier, a bit more power. And CHEEAAPP!

Yeah Man. Looks like it is the green wires on the VTR so will do it for the ICM and Converter.

Will see how i get on with it today if I get time.

Spokes, on that vid it looked like he just spiced onto the existing wire off the black box. Is this how you did it? Doesn't this still funnel current through that thin wire or is the premise that you loose the resistance of the rest of the length of the thin wire?

Did you take any pics of your operation? This sounds like a great idea.

Sorry no pics of it being done. No choice but to splice into the small wire. But as the earth is common in the loom there will be a lot of "noise" in the loom.

Same idea as running leads directly to the headlight for less voltage drop.

I suck at wiring but found this very easy to do.

As im the first to do this mod, I shall call it the "Spokes power boost mod!" Bwhahahahahaha

Lets hope the bloody thing works....

If nothing else you can put a switch in the line for a hidden kill switch.

Given your level of confidence about the whole thing, perhaps it should be called the "Spokes power boost mod?".

Haha! Spokes, why do I picture you are already making t-shirts and doing a lot of high fives about this. I am sure your wife/girlfriend is sick of hearing of this momentous occasion.

VTR, didn't you both call it the same thing?

It's all in the punctuation, my friend.

Where can I get one of these t-shirts?

Its gunna be epic! The girls will swoon!

Well really it probably wont do much but I will take it. Mine does seem to start a little better and settles into a stable idle quicker. But this could be a placebo effect. I may get to ride it tonight or I will be riding it to work tomorrow.

All it cost was about half an hour and a bit of old wire.

Better order your Tee shirt.

It works as far as I can tell. Mid range is a little stronger. Idles better. Not gone into top end as I cant on the local streets.

Happy days.

Finally finished my COP mod, it went in 3 stages because everytime it was busy had to leave it also put some iridum plugs in.... gonna fill er up with 98 pump gas, half a bottle carb/injector cleaner and get some dyno time... hoping on some nice numbers

i feel some difference with the COP mod or its just the new plugs doesnt matter but top end is improved more complete burn of the mixture with a better spark or is it just placebo i could do comparison but thats $$$$ on the dyno

A beautiful sunny day here in Washington. I went to the car gathering at Dick's Burgers in Edmonds. Hung out with the sportbike guys there for a while. I had the only Honda, let alone the only Superhawk there. The bike had zero visibility with a pair of Hayabusas next to it, and was totally snubbed by the camera crowd.
After enjoying a Dick's Deluxe, I got sick of standing next to the bike and not riding it so I headed back through Lynnwood, to Woodinville and eventually made my way to the High Bridge road. I passed a pair of Ducatis stopped at the Broadway turnoff.
The road was remarkably gravel free for once, but I still took the curves fairly easy. I love the big L-twin on the Hawk and the lovely noises it makes grunting out of a corner at 3500 rpm. I saw hundreds of geese camped out on the fallow fields along the way. I crossed the valley and went up to Monroe and back to Snohomish on the old Sno-Mon road. The mild weather has fooled the cherry trees; I saw several in full bloom.
I rode past my old apartment house in Snohomish, headed through town, and turned onto the Snohomish River Road; one of my favorite rides. I swear I saw a yellow Superhawk going the other way. Anyone on the river road around 1:20pm? I'm the guy on the red one. Got home but still feel like getting back on the bike again. Perhaps a long trip up Hwy 9 tomorrow?

Robert, I fully enjoy the fact that some guy somewhere (you) has decent riding weather.

I am still riding but man it was 7*F today with 40mph wind. And the roads are caked with salt.

Enjoy the riding for the rest of us........

Hang in there Joe, The weather can only get better.
I applaud your fortitude at being out there in the cold and nasty stuff.
Great video, Spokes!
