What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

I love my GT Air, especially the internal sun visor
Swapped to a Galfer SS clutch line today and put speed bleeders in all 4 bleeding locations(must have in my opinion, makes the job easy)
Feel is much improved

Easy. Not even worth getting a beer out for. Lift you fork protectors, lift your dust seals with a screw driver gently under the edge. Get a rag and clean the top of the oil seal. Then get a quality light grease and run it round the lowest part of the fork leg just above the oil seal. Now stand up and hold the bike. Lift the side stand. Gently push the bars down about half an inch. Lift the bars again. There will be a nice ring of grease round the leg. Now make sure you have good balance and hold the front brake. Now push down on the bars as fast and as hard as you can.
What happens is the seal flares a bit under that load and the grease gets captured under it.
Now put the stand back down (dont forget this, ive seen it happen...) and put the bike down. Clean the legs with a rag and push the dust seals and fork protectors back on. You may find for the next few rides a little grease shows up, just clean it up. It will stop.
Seals drying out is a very common reason fork seals fail. And it makes fork action way better.

Have ridden in it now. Nice bit of kit and it all works well. Only thing I will say is that it is more of a touring helmet than sports bike. Vents dont work that well when tucked.
Thats no problem thought as I have a HJC RHPA10 for track use.

Turns out on the GTAir the vents go the other way to what you would think. Now the best venting helmet I have ever used.

I ordered about 600-700 dollars worth of goodies. Danmoto rearsets, driven sprocket kit 16\43 with an rk gxw chain, new motion pro throttle tube, new clutch resi, air block off plates, factory service manual, and some other small things. Can't wait to get back and have a fun mod day.

Did the Hawk carb setup, ate some cookies, replaced the choke plunger thingy, put it all back in the bike, got distracted and missed a coolant hose to hook up resulting in the last picture. Need to get the adapter in to sync the carbs next then I am done with taking the bike apart for a while. Pain in my un-skilled butt.

Biketoberfest 2014- Daytona
Just returned from two days of serious fun in Daytona! Prior to trip, completed oil change, replaced front and rear tire, and adjusted carbs. Running two Conti's and loving them! Hawk ran like a dream. Speedo read 150 mph on track before I backed off. Had a chance to run with another Hawk, and viewed every imaginable bike on the planet. Bikers liked the Hawk, and I kept up with or passed everyone heading home on I-4. Gas is $2.98 per gallon for unleaded and $3.41 for premium down the street on HWY 27. Life is good...

Went for a brisk ride over some favourite roads today.
Lots of bikes out enjoying the great weather.
Bike performed well and still holds it's own with the latest batch of crotch rockets and such.
Always amuses me how when you meet other riders for the first time how they sort of dismiss the Storm, that is until they experience the tail view of it .
When you pull up at the next stop you can see them trying not to look to see what it was that just shocked them.
Somewhere along the line the comment"Jeez that old girl goes well" emerges and depending on who said it and their attitude some new friends are made.
Yesterday was a classic example when some folks that I went past pulled up at the pub that I had stopped at and started gawking at the bike.
We ended up riding together the 90 Klms back to town and had some fun along the way.
Lots of corners with some ridiculously fast bits in between and a great day out finished with a cold beer and some bike talk at the pub just over the mountain from home.
Made some new friends thanks to the Storm!
