I changed the oil at 7:30 am Castrol fully synthetic 10/w/40 motorcycle oil. I was soaked & dripping wet during the work, its very humid out in the am. it's supposed to be cooking hot out today here in south florida but I'm going to try to get a little ride in this evening. I cant wait for this fall & winter. It will be my first trip to key west on a motorcycle. It's supposed to be a must do ride if you live in s. FL

Finished my contract in Queensland, packed up and loaded the storm up and rode my Storm(Superhawk) 2,000Klms back home to New South Wales.
I fitted new tyres for the trip and the bike ran faultlessly.
I did 920 Klms the first day, 490 the next and 640 on the last day.
I had a Sheepskin seat cover on and was thankful for the fact that I needed fuel every 200 odd Klms.
Many stops and much fun was had on the way.
I was super happy with the way the bike performed, and the trip validated why I love the Storm so much.
Only maintenance along the way was 2 chain adjustments.
Back home now and waiting for my new rear sets to turn up, and looking forward to riding familiar roads again.

Went for a ride with 3 mates.
Kawasaki zx10 current model, current model Aprillia Tuono V4 and a 2009 Aprillia Tuono V Twin.
Needless to say the speeds were elevated and the Storm was not embarressed.
It was fun and a bit of an eye opener.
I doubt if the Storm would stay within sight of any of these bikes in a straight line however it was a show in the twisties with its good drive out of the corners.
Lean in and twist the throttle was the order of the day!

Had a nice run home on I-81 after work and found an interceptor that wanted to play a little. Shared a few fun moments, shared a nod of appreciation for our niche Hondas, and took my exit. Funny how shitty the paint and concrete looks when you're leaned right over it.

Swapped on a new dunlop roadsmart tire and put in a handy 90* angle valve stem. Really eases airing.
Amazing how sensetive vtrs are to tire wear. I could ride tires down to nothing on the cbr. So far the roadsmart has quickened handling over even a new bridgestone bt023

is that the harbor freight tire changer? I might need to pick one of those up. $20 a wheel to get tires changed even if I buy it from the dealer.
I left my hawk in the garage today.. raining again in lovely N. GA.. so many nice roads, so much sh*%y weather.
I did however mount a super bright LED 194 in that funky extra headlight whatever you call it thing , some saddlebags, and got a front stand for the bike yesterday.
I also bought some flush mount front turn signals to replace the super short stalk front signals so I can use them in the back since the PO used an integrated tail light and I cant imagine anyone knows when I'm turning or changing lanes and it makes me nervous

Made a magnetic tank bag out of my favorite backpack. Just sewed the rare earth magnets from this tool wristband thing I bought at sprawlmart (for just this reason). Its called the tool band-it if anyone wants great materials for a tankbag.
Adds only an ounce or 2 to the bag but easily holds many pounds of stuff on the bike and is a solid useable backpack.

Yeah the HF changer but sadly they dont sell the motorcycle attachment anymore. You gotta CL that part. I drove to the next state to get mine.
Around here they charge $60 if you dont buy the tire from them so the changer is free. Plus I save all the time going to a shop.

Swapped out my crappy 5yr old non mofset RR. Had to run the giant R1 unit I had on the B bike til the tidy small R1 unit came.
That other unit is huge and was even bigger before I hacked off the fins. Got the small unit on the bay for $65 shipped.

I figured, why spend $80-$120 on a used tank bag when I can make my own with stuff I already have. You can get rare earth magnets from Home Depot and Northern Tools for a decent price too. I just super glued my magnets to the inside of the backpack. Right now, I don't care about the paint on the tank untill I get back from my trip to S.D.

Wow so either back by popular demand or maybe those crazy Georgians stockpiled them or something.
Oh and insulin, you will want to get one of these tire change bars. For sure the most bang for the buck. I bashed a few rims and fingers til I got one. Wouldnt be without it. http://no-scufftiretool.com/

Wrapped the up pipes in DEI Titanium (Titanium Exhaust Wrap with LR Technology 010128 | Purchase DEI, CryO2, Ny-Trex, Boom Mat & SPA Turbo Products | Design Engineering, Inc. - Thermal Performance Products) on the Jardine RT-1's I installed friday to keep my boot from melting onto them.

Installed my flushies today and picked up a moto tire changer Oh and for those of you with a local cycle gear right now a full set of parelli diablos or bridgestone BT016's are $220. Its an in store only deal and I don't know if its advertised. Almost picked up a set of diablos but decided ive spent way too much money in the past month already and really want to try a higher mileage tire anyway. Thinking Conti-motions right now. One of the guys at cyclegear rides an RSV1000R and he says he beats the crap out of them on 129 every chance he gets and generally still pulls 6k out of a set before he swaps them and says they aren't fully cooked yet but they start losing grip on the edges

aahh...One must know secret passage to closed highway. off of 61S it looks like just a big dirt pile/landfill, but it is an earthwall that covers a 1/2 mi of closed highway that is all graffiti'd up. no vehicles allowed technically as it's supposed to be walking traffic only, but since the motorcycles fit, why not race 'em? Incidentally, off the line the 'Hawk will take a GSXR 600 all day. He pulled in top end every time, but with only a 1/2 mile to play in, it was my day.
