What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

Received my shock from Jamie today, and I must say, it's a thing of beauty!! Can't wait to install it tomorrow, and hopefully get my new clutch fibers and springs in with the oil changed since it's due. Also drove a little North and picked up the lower fairing I bought from Saige the other day (thanks again Tony). So that might go on after I get the clutch and oil change taken care of tomorrow.

Finally got to take the bike out for a ride this last weekend.
While waiting for parts to show up I figured I would burn off the last of the rear tire, which got flat centered from riding in a strainght line the last 6 months..... and also to see if I remembered how to ride....
So Sat it was Placerits Cyn to Little Tajunga Cyn to Big Tajunga to Angles Forrest to Upper Big Tajunga to Angles Crest out to Wrightwood.
Then did the reverse back home. It was a nice little ride, kind of wide open and high speed.
The roads were in good shape except for the top of Angles Crest by Wrightwood. In that area there was a lot of crap on the road from slides so it was kind of interesting,,,,
The bike was running good but the itermittent coolant leak was back, so I'm glad that one of the bits I am waiting for is a new, to me, left rad as I damaged the rad where the lower hose mounts in my last get off and have not been able to get to to seal properly since then.
Sun was look for some more technical roads. Started off on Old Topanga Cyn\Mulholland to Stunt to Schueren to Las Flores to PCH a quick run up the coast (Yeah I know there are more "interesting routes" but with a questionable colling systems I took the easy way)
The up Latigo Cyn to Kanan to Mulholland to the Rock Store.
Then back tracked once again..... So many new roads to learn....
This route was a bit more to my liking but not knowing the road does limit how you ride them. Though the suspension is working really good.
So far the new chain and sprockets are here (520 with steel superlite sprockets 16\41)
A new set Hybrid Ceramic rear wheel bearings.
My Ron Ayers box showed up, so now I can pull my clutch cover and put the stock advancer back in. Plus a couple other odds and ends.
The 4* fixed advancer worked well but it will not work with one of the other bits I am waiting for. All that I will say is that it is a Honda part and it comes with the following note:
1) Side stand cut off switch does not work with this kit
2) Use only unleaded premium gasoline. To avoid any trouble, do not use any other gasoline.
Of course I will do the oil\filter when I pull the clutch cover and coolant\cap when I replace the rad.
Still waiting for:
My Honda bit to show up from a far away land.....
A few more bits for the rearsets
The left Rad
A set of billet DrHonda stacks (yeah I finally had a chance to get some for myself, not just tune everyone else's....
Oh and I'll pick up a new rear tire this week....
So the bike should be set for a little while which should give me a little time to start hunting engine parts.

I picked up a beat up '98 Hawk a couple of weeks ago for $1600. I rejuvenated the windshield with the headlamp-type restoration kit. I checked the air filter since it was running way rich - it is in horrible condition. I ordered one which is on the way. I played with the suspension adjustment today (I am about 135lbs without gear) and made pretty much everything except the rear preload stiffer. I also changed the front brake pads to EBC HH since the bike would not stop before (I have a Monster and VFR as well which DO stop). What a difference in braking! Left to be done is to replace the air filter, figure out which R/R I need to do and a CCT. Also, replace the clutch lever which is bent from a low speed off the PO had. The rest I will leave stock.
Any ideas why the bike smells of gas? I think it is running rich...air filter should help

This one will only work with the '98-'00 years but the clone should be able to work with any year bike.

Feel bad for talking bad on him so Ebay-ed a new tank, ASV shortie levers, Tail section, LED light strips, and found a supplier of exhaust tubing for my custom headder pipe in still have 300... Dude felt so bad that he wouldnt let me give him the extra back. Thanks Neighbor! Soon as i get back state side I will have 4 months till riding season, more time for mods and take him out for a beer.
