Warm up idle ?

Before I go somewhere I let my SH get up to temp. I run it at idle, no choke, for about three minutes if I haven't used it in a few hours. After that it'll either cut out or the idle will drop to about 750RPM and I have to cut it off and back on again. Once I start it back up it runs fine. Is this just a weird quirk or something else? Thanks for any help.

A little extra info. Started happening after I changed the spark plugs. Temp is normal to cold when it happens.

By the sound of it, it's not normal. VTRs (at least mine) is pretty slow to warm up. I have to let it idle for at least 15-20 min before the fan will kick on, but it will never die. Sounds to me like something happened when you changed the plugs. Ensure you have the right plugs installed (DPR9EIX9) and the plug wires are fully seated on the plugs. Check your tank hoses to make sure they are all installed correctly and that none get pinched when you reinstall the tank. That's about all I have to offer on this one. It's obviously related to the plug change since it didn't do this before the maintenance.

The Superhawk is not a happy camper waking up - much less waking up cold. The more built she is the bitchier it gets. I can never keep mine on full choke for more than a few seconds. After that it cleans up a bit until the exhaust starts to run warm.
