I had a 97 YZF-750 up until a year ago. It was cool having a bike that no one else had When it came time to ride I always choose the SH and only road the YZF when I felt guilty about it siting their. End up selling it and bought an R6 Trackday only bike.

I'm with you guys on the 675 Triumph. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, and has won both 600-class shootouts I read. May be worth waiting for the second year models so as to make sure all the bugs are worked out.

Although not entirely in the same class, the new BMW R1200S is a real piece of eye candy too.

Finally, maybe KTM will get their duff in gear and bring the RC8 superbike over. That would be sweet too (engine is 40 lbs lighter than VTR's)

cheers

999 or 999R anyone? Why switch from a twin? I've ridden a 600RR, and though it pretty much doesn't have any ***** until you get it wound up, it's still a nice ride. I'm heading toward the 2nd bike for the track, as I can't afford to wad up the hawk when I need it to commute on.

cause I hate ducati. plus the 1000rr has more then enough ballz and is cheaper then the cheapest 999 I could ever find. also cheaper to maintain. screw the 600's. someday I'll learn to ride them but not now

yeah. I don't think anyone here was considering "upgrading" to a 600. with not torque it has no ***** or grunt. not worth it. liter i4 bikes now have great torque though. 1000rr is most definetely my next bike with the superhawk still in the garage. I see no point in selling it personally even if it just sits. I'll lose so much with selling and I paid for it in cash almost a year ago

Lose money.....have you checked all the mods I've done? Like an idiot I sold all the stock stuff instead of keeping it and selling the mods if I sold the bike. Can I get a big DOH!!!!

what stock stuff? I don't have any left either.... I just don't see the point of selling a bike for $3k which will have lots of extras by that point (more then i have now) which also means a lot more sentimentally then anything. plus will be a great bike for a gf/wifey to ride if I ever find a nice girl that's into bike

Try a track day there are some adventerous women there usually.....Well then again some of those women can kick my *** on the track...could you handle that? I know what you mean I'd probably start to if I sold it.

That one guy, oicdn, who used to post here, has a Brutale. Personally, I don't like that style of street-fighter, but I LOVE the F4 look (MV Agusta...not the CBR600F4 ).

That's always a curious gray area. Is a trackbike covered for theft under Homeowner's? I heard it MIGHT be possible to purchase theft insurance for a trackbike through a regular MC-insurance company.

That might be worth looking into, it would always be in the garage but it's pretty easy to take it when transporting. Or some crazy person taking it out of my garage!

As long as it's just a track day, it's just a rider improvement course and they will still cover a crash. If you're racing they won't cover it, although some companys do, (for large sums of money I'm sure), same with health ins.

For what I paid for the Hawk ($3100) If I do liability only for two years, I would have paid for it twice if I had full coverage...so I roll the dice....INS is a bitch out here....

full coverage for that? it's like $700 for full including collision. I pay < $300 for comp and above minimum liability
