Makes the bike look a lot slimmer. But I prefer dual-pipes...

Although I am not usually a big fan of underseat exhausts, I do find this one interesting. It does take some getting used to but it sure streamlines the bike. I can't help but think how it would really look sharp with a braced swingarm on that set-up (quite sporty).
In a related topic, I wonder what the sound level and "***-warming factor" would be with that pipe?
cheers

That was going to be my next project although I would do it slightly different. I'm running into a little snag though because I went to a full system, now I need to make a y pipe when the stock pipe I could've just cut and been done.
Oh and a c/f can would keep it cooler on the ***.

I like the idea of the undertail but it needs a prettyer swingarm like the 600rr. if you look at all the new bikes with undertails they've done so work making the swingarm look good I'm sure marketing had as much to do with that as function.

I gotta go with Utah996 on this one... kind of makes you wonder whats missing in the back of the bike...
Then again, thats one of the reasons I like the SH... the dual exaust. Especially with the Muzzy carbon fiber pipes on it...

you could probably custom make something but eh... probably would lose power with such a system since it doesn't have any research behind it... I am curious in other systems though... Right now I love just my normal erion pipes but I kinda want high mounts or something a lil different...

btw the dual underseat exhaust which I think would look pimp is similar to the r1's

That would not be as effecient as a regular exhaust. For best power, you would want your bead pipes as close to the same length as possible(that is why stock and aftermarket have so many bends on the rear cylinder headers). Plus my bike kicks the crap outta two pipes(I will need to repack my cans this year), I bet one can would last a year before needing a repack.

The way he did it yes but if you did it after the incoming y it wouldn't be an issue. I'm sure he did it that way so he could keep the pipe on the inside instead of running one outside the swing arm. You could also make up for some length by using larger diameter pipe.

Anyone ever see pics of Daz's bike? He fabed a underseat exhaust that looked great. He also had done a SSS conversion. The bike had a totaly differnt look to it.

Was that the one that fabed his own muffler? That muffler was sweet, just didn't like all the exposed pipe on the outside. JMO

I prefer the stock type layout. I doubt the stock pipes cause much of a ground clearance problem.

Not really though because he just went up were the old down pipe was, plus he put heat wrap on the pipe. I personally am planning to use the stock routing and just have a small pipe on the outside of the swing arm on the right.
