the freeways were concrete when I was running out there, and I know that the traction was no where near that of blacktop.

The 6 pots are likely much stronger than mine, but even at that, I cover the brake most of the time with my middle finger, with some of the free play out so reaction time is reduced, and all the free play out when I think I may have to get on em. First pull is to compress fork springs only, then on em hard. If i'm not hangin off, I also cover the back brake to help reduce velocity of front spring compression. I know this is extreme, ocd, excessive, over the top, etc, but it's a habit I got into for blind turns on back roads and now I just keep it there most always. The other thing i noticed about using the middle finger only is less power than two fingers, but strong enough to do the job with control.

I don't know what tire you're running, but my last two were power pures and I got them slipping several times on the brakes, mostly at lean. Makes me nervous when the front get skittish like that. So far no problem with the stiffer carcass of the Q2 at 29psi cold.

If you stabbed the brake like you said, probably springs compressed too fast, hit bottom or near and it was too much for Mr. Front Tire to endure, or some combination thereof.

I'm just puttin possibilities out there so that you might find the answer somewhere because I hate when I crash and don't know why.

get healed up quick so you can jump on that beast and start pushin wind again.

I had an experience associated with a "stab" of the front brake. It occurred on a two lane state highway at @ 65mph. My attention drifted and I looked up to what I thought was the car in front of me preparing to turn into an unseen driveway. I made the shift of weight preparing for a real hard emergency braking situation and at the same time made the previously mentioned "stab". At this point I heard the front tire give a hearty "chirp", realized i was overreacting and backed off the brake. Oh, did I mention the quality "head shake" that was happening about the same time. She oscillated side to side, 1..2..3 and then settled back quite nicely. The adrenaline rush was outstanding considering we stayed upright.
