Superhawk Gas Tank Prop Rod
#3
I made a U bolt out of threaded rod, covered with shrink tube to prevent scratching the front of the tank. Then I attach it to front where the two small bolts normally hold down the tank. I use a ratchet strap to the rear of the subframe with the seat off to hold the tank up by the U bolt. Maybe lay a towel under the strap and u bolt for extra protection from scratches.

2nd dibs on the rods!
I always use a tie down to the tail. A prop rod, even carbon would get in my way and I would konk my head on it. Then the tank would fall on my fingers and lots of 3 stooges antics would ensue.

Having looked more closely at the picture, I'm now questioning if this is a race version prop or just a standard street version. By the markings, it appears to be a street version, but I know different production runs could be marked differently. I know the race versions were commonly marked with a backwards "R", but late model runs dropped the "R" but can still be identified by their Sharpie labeling. This example appears to have the correct period Sharpie markings, but, not knowing the production year, I don't know if there should be the typical backwards "R" or not.
I don't want to pay race prices for a street prop. I'd sooner just mark-up a common stick myself before doing that.

Wicky still hasn't come through with what year these things are but I can tell you the 01 and up rods could prop more capacity.
I'm tired of Wicky's unresponsive bullshit on this for sale thread. I withdraw my dibs on the race prop. I'm headn' over to the 'bay where only responsible prop sellers reside.

Be careful of inferior props that break if you so much as look at them wrong...
See my sales page for quality props handcarved by 8 year olds with nimble fingers in their mandatory voluntary overtime after working happily making Apple products during their regular 100 hour weekly shifts.
