SHOG rally Roll Call

I just got back from the gap about an hour ago, traffic was really thick. I'm working on the video right now and Mr. Daytona was there eating lunch, so I had Scott Russell autograph my shirt. Super nice guy

NICE...I am supprised it would be super busy, with Myrtle Beach Bike week going on...suppose they have traffic from that...

3 weeks....I am with ya on that one....
Now, Greg, you are going to be able to guarantee there will be NO Rain for the week of the 6th-12 correct?? Cause I am riding the whole way, and I don't like rain, nor will I wear a rainsuit!! So if we all need to step outside and do a little no rain dance to the motorcycle gods, then I suggest we make that happen!!

Good plan Sgt. !
My general plan is to ride Deal's Gap Friday morning and Friday afternoon. As a general rule, it seems the late afternoon times are best as far as traffic goes. Most folks who are just in for the day are there by 10 or 11 am and gone after 4 or 5 pm.
Friday mid-day I'll hang around and/or do whatever.
Saturday, pretty much the same for me.
I'm guessing we'll have a set time one or both days for everybody to meet up. Maybe before a group ride or whatever. We'll need to get pictures of all the SHs lined up, and have time to poke around each other's ride.

Well who is up for a some dyno fun? Last time I was at the Gap with a bike was several years ago and I want to take my new SH over to Wheelers and see how it stacks up to the old one.
Who want to join in? I'm just looking for a little bench racing fun. Nothing to gain from it but education and Wheeler knows his stuff to boot.
My last one made 100 RWHP and 70 RWTQ and this one feels stronger but who knows.

Yep. Lookin' forward to it.
Here's my situation:
Skip the complicating details....
I have now secured a room at the Phillips Motel in Robbinsville and will be bringing Rex (my Jack Russell Terrier) with me.
He'll hang out in the room during the day, but I'll have to run back and let him out during the afternoon so he can do his business.
Still hoping/planning to arrive late Thursday night and be ready to ride mid morning on Friday.
I'll probably show up at the store around 10 am +/-.
Red F150 w/ red SH on the trailer.
All that said, I am reminded- Life is what happens while I am making plans.
See you then.

I was once told that "Life is what happens while you are thinking about the happenings of life"
er yeah, never did sink in...oh well...I should get there by mid day on Fri, riding in from Suches, probably go straight to the cabin to unload, then head to the store, or vis versa, depending on what time folks will show up....

Not an idiot. There have been several threads about this big-to-do. Unless you have followed them, it might be easy to miss something.
Or, you can be like me, and follow them and still miss something.
:/
This is, so far as I know, the first ever planned "major event" for Superhawkforum.
It's going to be at Deal's Gap, NC. or as is often refered to:
Tail of the Dragon.
Check out the stickies at the top of the General Discussion section for more info on the SHOG Rally.

I am crashing Thursday night with some friends up for the SV Rally. Friday and Saturday night I will be at the CROT. I think I will just walk around and ask every SH rider if they are up for the S Hog Rally. Should get some good looks.

I'll be there Thursday morning. I have a Yellow hawk with stickers that say "kinkyspider" and another one that says "PornStar" on both sides of the fairings. I also have a handlebar mirror.

All us guys going to the shindig should exchange cell numbers, etc. PM me each your cell numbers, bike description, etc and I will send out a mass PM or email to all of us so we can contact each other.
I just checked the 6-10 day forecast. It's going to be hot ~90° with about a 50% chance of rain Fri, Sat, and Sun. That's about normal I'd say, with chances of rain increasing as you go up in elevation, and later in the afternoon. If we can hit Cherahola mid-morning we should avoid rain on Sat.
Just ordered a new rear Qualifier for the Hawk so I'm good on rubber for the trip. The RR has new PPs as well.

If you've never been to the Dragon this is what to expect.
