My brain is too tired to figure it out myself now.
It's easier on both our brains just to get a speedohealer... That kinda makes it all simple...

Only if you have the bread, which I don't.

So if 43/16 = 2.68 & 41/16 = 2.56 and 2.68 - 2.56 = .12 / 41 = .04 or 4% lower gearing + 11% speedo error = 15% lower road speed than indicated and mph error is same as odo error, then if I thought i was averaging 34 mpg with 43T, it was really 4% lower or 32.64 mpg and I'm now getting 34 since changing back to 41T, its actually 4% improved mpg. now that amkes sense except I'm running one lower gear at speeds below 65 mph because it feels like its lugging in 6th below 65 mph, so its probably a wash.

Whew, do I feel better now.

Thumbs up cheap

When you can fill up for the price of a value meal you know your tank is tiny. dropping gas prices are beautiful.

I usually get about 140 miles give or take, to a tank.

If I'm really "on it" I guess it's about 125-130 or so to a tank.

Ok, I drilled out the baffle a bit and now I don't care about the mileage.

Shift for the SOUND now.

I get between 6.6 and 7.2 litres per 100 km. I get the worst mileage in the early spring and late fall and the best when it's hot in the summer.

32-34 mpg. Fill up at @ 100 miles on the trip/odometer. I don't wait for the light to come on. I just fill up. Shift @ 6-6500 rpms and do a 50/50 highway and city riding.
Running 16/43 sprockets.
