Ooops I missed page 2.

I'm glad you'll be alright, Steve.

On mine I hadn't used the brakes at all. I've crashed this bike twice the same way. The other time was a trackday. (You'd think I'd learn!) Right hand turn, running fast, too much gas & the rear tire just washes out ASAP; traction at the front wheel was never an issue in either crash.

Crash notes: temps in the 40s so the pavement was cool; was running fresh BT021s with 42psi. I used to run 36-38 psi, but on the last set I used the 42psi Honda calls for & got an extra 3,000 miles out of the tires. If I had it to do over I wouldn't have run with 42psi.
Similar scenario with mine. it was Nov in Pa, temp 40's, 42psi. I didn't grab a handful though and tires were worn. Pretty smooth with the roll on didn't help. When the front lets lose, it's a different ballgame. There is no drama, you're down like you hit a patch of ice.

I've had the rear step out before, usually no problem, but once resulted in a painful highside when the *** end slipped off the track and then quickly on again. Quite a flight! Too much testosterone with too little brain, I was leading the amateur class with a half a lap to go, had a broken collar bone from a crash the month before.....and here we go again. That wasn't too far from your territory-Summit Point.

I was thinking of you last night. Saw a Superhawk with 20,000mi for $1500.

Thanks for the tip. KS is a little far for me in my present condition. but that is one super price. Some body should grab that. Or buy it, pick it up & hold it for me!

I always enjoy learning about riding techniques and what not to do. Much of what's taught is at best, oversimplified. Although I don't want to be pushing it so hard that trailbraking or lack thereof is going to be the difference between a good ride and a hospital visit... I definitely do want to practice using those techniques. Even if I'm riding at 7/10ths, I can at least do it correctly, it'll allow me to go a little faster and smoother and still have the same margin for error.
