Is the RC51 faster then the super hawk?

I have a buddy who has a 2005 RC51. I have a 1998 superhawk. Both are stock except I have a jardine RT-1 slip on.

His bike is a lot slower then mine. I beat him in every aspect except for top speed. My bike will wheelie with the touch of the throttle and his takes a little bit of effort.

Doesn't the RC51 have like 20 more hp? what's the deal here? We have switched bikes and the super hawk still wins every time.

the RC51 powerband is more top-end biased than the VTR's.... so the VTR has more toruqe in the lows and mids, which is right where you need for street riding (and pulling wheelies).....

Yeah I know the RC51 will beat any super hawk on a track. It's a beast track bike. But I thought with the extra horsepower it has, it would make it pull harder too.

Like I said we have tried first gear / second gear / 3rd gear rolls at various speeds and he never wins. I even let him get the hit and he still loses.

well....I have passed RC51's at the track on my hawk (and my XX) - and catch them in the turns.
It's more about the rider, not the ride....at a road course track.

Well... Try a third gear roll-on, and let it ride a while, and you'll see tail lights...

But like others have said, it's mostly down to the rider... Out of the gates the VTR is marginally faster, but it looses out on top end once the RC comes good...

You guys should try being dyslectic with an overcompensation on graphic understanding of words... That's the reason for my photographic memory, I don't "read" words as letters put together but the other way around, like a pattern you can break apart... Every little mistake that breaks the pattern annoys me to no end, including my own mistakes...

I can look at a single page for half a second and tell you exactly where there are spelling errors or grammatic errors...
