peg lowering kits

Hello all, im considering a peg lowering kit for my SH and was wondering if anyone has any experience or input on these. Im 6'7" so the stock peg location is just a tad high for my liking!

Thanks

I put these on my Blackbird, VFR800 and Gladius: Harley part number is N0006.1AD, I think they are for the XBs (Firebolt).

$35 Buell pegs, lower position about 1".

BIG help! Thanks for input! Did u notice a difference even though its only an inch? No problem adjusting shifter and brake? I know you cant drop them too much for clearance purposes. Much less expensive than kit i was looking at!

On the Gladius, the control did not have to be adjusted much for me, shft lever is a clamp-on unit on the shifting shaft, so adjustment was easy.

On the Superhawk the shift lever is a connect-rod, if you have the adjusting bolts seized, adjustment may require some muscle.

Brake adjustment shouldn't be too bad, but I don't use brakes much anyway; they only slow you down.

I did the Buell peg conversion on my Hawk. You can definitely feel a difference, I am 5'9". Stock position killed my knees, new position was like nite and day. Shifter adjustment wasn't too bad but rear brake is. Still have not been able to get it just where I want it. Have to lift foot to get to brake lever. Also, if you go this route you will need to make a couple bushings. I found at Lowes in the nuts and bolts section some plastic bushings that were close to what I needed and sanded the outside circumference to what I needed. Under $2

Don't know if you have seen these, but I use Cycle Pirates 360 mounts and pegs, very adjustable to many different positions due to design. I really like them.

I appreciate all the input! Installed pegs last night after the slightest bit of sanding to the mounts to ease install. Am very happy with the results! Its amazing the difference just an inch makes and all done for less than $35! Highly recomend this conversion for anyone looking to lower their pegs!!

Hows your clearance when you lean into a turn? I already scrape my boots on the pavement when I lean hard. Maybe my feet naturally kina turn out? Idunno.

But I'm also 6-1" so after an hour or so of riding my legs get cramped too...Sounds like a sweet mod.

Bandit if you feel a little lower pegs would help you this is a great inexpensive way to do it! Im 6*7* and am very happy with the difference it makes.....wow!! As for clearance ive had no problems. I had to sand down mounts the slightest bit to get to fit in mounts correctly and they are stick out about 3/8" farther from mount so i have to point my toes in the slightest bit to hit rear brake, which is no big deal to me. Im very happy with results and price!!
