Parting Out 1998 Red SH
Just purchased a red 1998 (Mucho Thankso to Jason C, see his post "98 SH fs in SoCal - Oct 3). Much of the bike will be available with the exception of a few things. I need a new 2nd gear, so I'll be using the entire engine/carbs/gearbox (Moriwaki here I come!) Once I get the engine rebuilt, then my entire engine will be available. I will also be using the new forks (Racetech here I come), and when those are done then mine will also become available. And I will also be using the front wheel (mine has kink in lip from the last guy who changed tire), and of course when I get the switch done, then my old one will be available. Jason also threw in a few spare parts..... My first priority is to take the whole bike apart so I can get what ever parts people are looking to buy out of the garage and have a bit more room..... I am not sure how long all this will actually take.... I am figuring a few weeks? So, If anyone needs anything, and doesn't have to have it NOW, then maybe we can deal before I try my hand at Ebay....

I'm interested in your old motor... How many miles are on it and how does it run?
Mine is at 50K + and still runs ok, but I have a sinking feeling about it.
How much are you gonna want for the engine?
I think shipping from Cali. should not be too crazy.

Does the rear fender still have the stock signal mounts intact? I don't care if it's been shortened, just whether or not the signal mount locations are still usable. I hacked my fender off even with the tailsection, then later got a set of Beetlebags which use those mounts for a cross bolt. I built a bracket, but it's not 'exactly' right, and the ~2mm I'm low on the left mount hole is causing the bag to rub against the tailsection. If it's viable, I'm definetly interested.

Re: Parting Out 1998 Red SH
Are you interested in just the slip-ons or do you want the entire stock headers? The slip-ons are in pretty good shape, and so are the headers.... I can get you some pics in a day or two.... I have no idea what would be a fair price.... How does $50.00 for both slip-ons sound, and perhaps $25.00 for the stock headers? Let me know what you think, and of course the price is flexible, in case you see something on Ebay and wanna deal so you don't have to wait/bid etc.... No prob to ship either, I got both fed ex and ups nearby as well as post office......

Re: Parting Out 1998 Red SH
I just picked up a crashed SH that will be my winter project. I'm interested in the shift linkage, brake lever, and clutch master cylinder if they're available. (I'm new to the forum and can't PM) Thanks.

Re: Parting Out 1998 Red SH
Jay, I got the left side peg mount/shift linkage assy, and a complete front brake assy (m/c, lever, lines, etc). Just let me know exactly what you need, and what ever else down the road.... thanks for your interest, Darren.

Sorry Jay, forgot to mention that the entire clutch assy is already spoken for by another member, however if it becomes avail later, you got dibs....

Re: Parting Out 1998 Red SH
I don't know if the message got sent to you or not so sorry if I'm repeating myself. The color is black slightly faded from being a '98 but not badly the polished part shines nicely and the bike has always been garaged. It is perfectly straight and has never hit a curb or pot hole. The only reason I need to get rid of it is I have 5 spoke rims now, (900rr on back RC51 on front). I would love to keep it as an extra for track days but I already sold the front to slowhawk and could use the money for bills,(of course).
I was thinking $150.00 shipped and I will guarantee it's straight I'll even put a fresh polish on it for you. It will come with the rotor but no cush drive or sproket, unless you want the stock sproket without the drive I have a 520 chain so it does me no good.
I seem to be having a problem with adding an attacnment on the pm you may have already gotten this message twice but oh well.
