Question Now Rotella T Blue cost $22 at Walmart.

Reading many discussion on Rotella T blue, I was convinced it is the best performance oil for cost.

Today, I went to Walmart to buy usual Retella Blue price jump up.
now 1 gallon of Retella Blue is $22.00! used to be $16.00.
Mobil 1 5W30 is $23.58 for 5 qt. (little more than 1gallon)

Is rotella T worth to pay as much or more compare with Mobil 1?

Just want to know other rotella T and Mobil 1 users opinion.

Well I throw Rotella T and a wix filter on it for under 20 $ and beat the heck of it on a track, no damage for sure, heven't checked my pistons skirts lately...uh ever

i can get a galon of maxima for $12 a gallon but that and a wix filter get changed every 1200 miles. I used rotella once and it seemed as if my bike was having a hard time starting. drained and put in mobil 1 and it sounded so much happier. If you have to pay a lil more for a little more mobil 1 I say go for it.

I wouldn't put Mobil 1 5w30 in my bike. It is energy conserving and too light for the temps I ride in.

The Mobil one comparable to Rotella blue is the Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40. I think that is up in price also.

I don't believe any 10w40 oil is energy conserving. The problem with most 10w40 automotive oil is that they have greatly reduced the zinc and phosphorus below what the bike manufacurers call for.

The Mobil 1 "high mileage" 10w40 is an exception, but I think the Mobil Clean 5000 is short on those additives.

Rotella has excellent shear resistance, as does mobil one. Neither are inferior to each other, both are excellent oils. I base my decision on what oil weight I need. Rotella 5w-40 for winter, Mobil1 15w-50 for summer. Oh and also don't get the EP 15w50. Get the regular one, more phos. and zinc iirc.

rotella t 5-40

i have run rotell t 5-40 syn in all my bikes summer and winter with great results

i ran 15-40 in my dodge dart with great results recommended by comp cams
so i say until something better comes out to beat it i will stick with it
our local walmart is also 22.00 bucks per gallon
i also buy the walmart oil filter

biggerjim, that is what is use rotella blue and ST walmart oil filter, based on what read these are the best cost performance. I guess keeping same oil is better for machine so I will keep using this combo.
