The headlight design is one of my favorite parts of the bike. Covering the sides of it makes it look a lot like the other streetfighter headlights out there, which I've never been a huge fan of. Too insect-like. I love the way you have it now, with just the clear shield in front. It's aggressive and unique. I'm currently figuring out a new headlight set-up for my hawk and what you have now is basically exactly what I pictured in my head.
my 2 cents on that. Everything's looking great so far!

I like the bare headlight look too, but there is a problem.
Those projectors are not designed to be exposed to the elements, they need to be sealed.
I might seal them, Im not sure. Its alot of work.
But thats why they were getting the housing.

Its really not between either head and the frame, its between the carbs and frame, and only one one side. The other side is where the electronics are.

Makes sense. I'm sure you'll figure out something sweet looking when you get around to it. Gas tank coming along nicely. You definitely going to paint it? Brushed aluminum looks nice, though I'm not sure how you'd keep it protected. It'd be a nice contrast to the black frame in any case.

not sure yet, most likely paint but might leave some brushed aluminum peaking through.
Ive got good news, Looks like ive got all the parts assembled for a new front end.
rc51 forks and triples
buell ZTL wheel, rotor, caliper, line and MC
Ill have to make an axle and caliper adapter plate.

I must admit I am concerned about your airbox design. My experimenting with the CV carbs on this bike have shown me (and lots of people before me as well) that when you mess with the standard airbox the carbs don't work properly. Mongrel things they can be if you start changing things. Snorkel and airfilter changes will upset them, and no amount of jetting changes will help.
Have you some parameters for the design you have used, or is it just the shape that suited?
I will have to design my own airbox at some stage when I convert it to EFI, but I have not done any research on the subject as yet.
