My first VTR, well most of one

if you have a sonic cleaner, it will make that harness look like its new. Just a thought. If you use any VOC cleaner, you will soften the plastic coating and will most likely end up re-taping the whole thing.

What? no sonic cleaner? you have everything else! I guess that I would strip it down to just the wires, clean it with something "heavier" in weight, like a lite oil and then clean that up with a water soluble degreaser. You could even start with the degreaser, and then clean with something more aggressive if it doesn't work.

Degreaser is the best bet, cause ive got some.
Is there anything else I can use other than electrical tape to wrap it? I hate how the stuff becomes after a year or two, just a sticky mess.
I have some solder joint tape I wanna try, but it looks like regular electrical tape.

Awesome build, it's gonna be a ono-of-a-kind bike. I'm going trough the same airbox build, it's funny how you got it started exactly as I did, two plates screwed on the carbs, I ditched mine along with the carbs. Worst problem was the warping under the welding heat.
You have access to a lathe so making velocity stacks should be a breeze, 2" pipe 1/8 thick fits perfect, you need to taper both inside and outside, I wleded 2 1/2" 1/4"thick pipe over the 2" cut it and shaped it trumpet like. The problem is to put it on, you will need to unfasten a carb from the steel plates to get the stack skirt in place since you can't remove, unless you make a lid to that cover and bolt everything in place like stock.
Good job on everything !!

For velocity stacks Im probably gonna build a few sets of fiberglass ones different lengths, decide on a length and make them out of carbon fiber.
Actually im naked after the place in England, I believe thats what the bike is also named after.

Since ive moved all my electronics up front, 80% of the wiring is un needed. Also eliminating sidstand switch, clutch switch, rear brake switch, and all of the wiring for the gauges, there is a ton.
The gauge im using is very simple wiring wise and has alot of extra features.
So to answer your question, shortening it, removing unnecessary connections, making it fit the layout of my bike.

most likely. Not really sure what to do. Im running led tail light and blinkers. A 60w high beam and a 35w HID low beam. Might wire in a relay and some heaver gauge wire for the headlight, not to that point yet.
anyone have any advice?

advice for what? I wouldn't no what to tell you. When I did my undertail exhaust i had to mount my reg/rect up in the front of the bike to keep heat off of it. i mounted by one of the body ducts to make sure that I had air flowing over it.

Does it ground through the housing, if so you might want to run a good size ground wire to that unit.
I'd hate to see the bearings if they have to provide the ground path for any length of time...
Kai Ju.
P.S.
I remember when the wire harness on my 600 Rotax engined Ninja 250 looked like that.......
