I love what you are doing with the rear section of the bike. I'm one of the few who like to see the *** end raised up higher than stock. It makes it look a lot less cluttered.

I was looking forward to seeing how you finished off making the body work with the molds and carbon as this is something I'd like to do as well to have custom pieces on my SHawk.

I could go on and on about the things you've done but I won't cuz it's pretty much already all been said. Excellent work and keep it up. Take care of your knee so you can enjoy the ride!
Well thank you. I promise to you and everyone, This thread will GET BETTER.

I predict the bike will be running within a week, and there will be video.

I still plan on doing the carbon body work, just not for a while. I need to get this bike on the road as soon as possible, I need to get around.

MORE TO COME

Oh and the cct's are 85 shipped

Ive got about 5 hours into cleaning the front calipers alone.

WARNING, dont soak the calipers in a cleaning solution, the rubber seals will absorb it and they will be toast.

Good thing I had another caliper that I could steal the seals from.

Stator side, dont know If I like the Jap flag red dot.

also been helping my dad put ALOT of work into the Beast.

I sure am glad you work as fast as you do, I don't think I could stand to wait for someone who would work as slow as I would, heh.

That Beast is looking like a work of art, or at least art deco. You guys gonna show it anywhere?

FWIW, I don't see how polishing the coolant lines will make a difference.. Even if it does keep the coolant a tiny bit cooler getting into the engine, the heat it didn't absorb on it's way in it will have to absorb once in the engine.. It's the same heat from the same engine. So why would it matter if it gets that heat "radiantly" or directly?

I could be wrong though.

Looking good BTW, can't wait to hear it!

Well the heat that is already radiating off the engine (lets call it x) would normally be put off into the air... And the coolant absorbs heat from the engine (lets call it y), so now, instead of radiating x into the air and radiating y into the coolant, you're now radiating x right into the coolant, heating it up, and not allowing it to perform the full cooling duties it once did (y).

alright people, dont worry about the coolant lines. Just know they move the coolant from the engine to the radiator, AND BACK

I guess you could make aluminum coolant lines with cooling fins along the length of the, that would be different. Don't know if it would be possible.

True, true.. However, the radiator has a given amount of heat transfer capacity, and the engine creates a given amount of heat.. So if you are depending on the radiative capabilities of the engine block to keep the engine down to operating temperatures you are in trouble.. But if the radiator is large enough to cool the engine, it will keep it in temp regardless of how the heat is transfered from the engine to the radiator.

edit: Remember the engine can be too cold as well as too hot, so you are better off having the cooling take place in the radiator where the thermostat can control the engine temp than randomly through the bike.

This is really all moot though as I doubt the amount of heat the line will pick up or not would be enough to make even one degree of difference.

Copper transfers more heat than Al.

Check out some heat pipes.

Ya, that was part of the orig. plan too. Except I would use pre bent joints and solder it all together. I also planned on soldering fins on.

BUT the price of copper was ridiculous and I like aluminum, plus I can make any bend I want.

You should put a lamborghini logo on it. Then you can add them to the "What's the dumbest thing anyones ever said/asked about your Hawk or Gear?" thread.

went to the hospital today to transfer my old files. Got my x ray from the wreck. Cant tell it but I have extreme swelling and infection in this x ray. So bad they almost amputated my leg.

After that surgery Is when I really destroyed my knee. Ripped my quadriceps tendon in half. Hopefully Ill get the xray of that soon.
