MBB Club
As I was touching up the paint on the Big Tank in preparation for the new season and the upcoming 2 day Flat 4 tour (BTW, has anyone found a better match for the fast Red color than all those posted, as I've tried them all including the OEM touch-up bottle but excluding Colorites offering), I noticed once again how many parts on the VTR are identified with "MBB".
Could not another name for a VTR forum member or others of similar ilk be termed members of the "MBB Club"?

That or the "SC3 Society". The first time I looked at the ownership for my bike it took me by surprise. It wasn't until months later I noticed the beginning of the code on the frame, then it made sense.

Check out colorrite.com. They have oem replacement quality paint for motorcycles. Getting ready to order some so can let you know how the color matches(I have red hawk also). They have touch up pens, small brush type up to aerosol cans and 1/2 pints, quarts for spraying. They carry color paint as well as primer, and clear.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Who'd have thought an insurance slip could teach you something about your bike, huh?!?!??!? Thanks Greg!
So, what, RC = Race Chassis, and SC = Street Chassis or something like that?

Alright, I'm all fucked up on the VIN codes. RC51 is not RC51, it's SC45. The actual race bike might be RC51 but the street bike is not. Do they even give racebikes VINs?
Also, the RC vs. SC thing is all over the place. I don't think that the CX650 was considered a race bike, EVER!
See the following link for all the codes: http://www.mynetmoto.com/motorradrei...cle_forum.html

The VTR is really an MBB to Honda. Parts have the model designated as to the first model they were used on. They can be, and are, used on other models as needed. You'll also notice that most of the VTR parts do not have MBB as the middle portion of the part number, some even date back to the 70's and 80's. The only MBB parts are those that are (or rather were in 1997) unique to the VTR.
