Lazn just went down

Got a call from lazn to pick up the bike. I guess someone pulled out in front of him. Emts took him to the hospital as his body hit a sign post. We just dropped off the bike and are heading to the hospital. It's still over a hundred outside but he still had gear on. I'll keep you updated.

Seeing how he just hit a sign with his body, the above post must be a pun.

A sign post? Sorry, that was bad too.

Damn Lazn, you better be okay bud.

Hope lazn's injuries are minor. Good thing he wasn't in a t shirt, shorts and flip-flops, since even a trip around the block can result in trouble. That sucks. Those Left Turn Larrys should be put in jail. It's secondary, but how did his bike come out?

Always sucks when a fellow rider goes down at the hands of some careless driver. Had someone rearend me last october and then take off. Sitting at a red light and just plowed me from behind and didnt even stop. Fully geared up though so damage was slim. Hopes for a speedy recovery bro.

Well I am home now and on percoset.

Basically I was going something just under 45mph and a old lady pulled out in front of me (into the middle lane where I was riding). I had just enough time to hit the brakes and make it so that I hit the rear door of her car rather than the front of it hitting me. (she was still pulling into the lane)

End result is: 7 staples in my left knee, road rash on my right knee, bruised spleen from hitting the one way sign after she catapulted me off my bike.. Had I been wearing my riding pants I probably could be riding again tomorrow but the staples in my knee are going to keep me from bending my leg for a while. (only thing I wasn't wearing was riding pants, just had on jeans)

My Joe Rocket jacket totally saved my left arm from anything more than a bruise as I slid on that armored forearm for long enough for it to pickup some paint from the lane markers. (my helmet never hit the ground)

As for the bike I haven't looked at it yet but yruyur rode it home for me and one T-Rex slider sacrificed itself to save it from more than a lost flushmount blinker and some road rash that can probably just be painted to fix. (plus the pillion seat cowl lost one of the tabs that lock it to the seat)

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!

The thing that pisses me off is not one witness stopped. The cop said that its one in a million now for anyone to stop. (I fricken call cops, stop and even see if there is anything I can do.)

Anyways the bike doesnt seem to have any mechanical issue. I rode it home from the seen and it ran fine, in fact the new F4I front break setup we finished this morning were great. The sliders save almost everything. Front turn signal is smashed, some rash on the left fairing, rear peg and some one the lower part of the left fork from what looks like where it made contact with the curb. The slider is bent but the mirror, bar ends and the clutch lever are untouched.

Ive got some pics of the bike and him ill post later, for now im heading over there to see how things are.

Kudos for wearing your gear and escaping without too much catastrophic damage. Here's to a speedy recovery of both rider and bike!
