Just found out about...

So I looked at it, it was a nice bike. Clean and dry underneath...some chips/scratches. Biggest thing was a cracked fairing(btw, anyone know what a replacement would go for?). It is a small crack from a piece of plywood on the freeway.
But man did this bike sound amazing!! I read they sound nice, but this thing NICE
It was in good shape for an 8 year old bike IMO. And as I followed him away it sounds fine as well.
Hmmmm...decisons!
Thanks for all of the input guys

Is a few chips and a crack ratty. The paint was nice, just a peice of plywood hit the fairing on the freeway
That happened on my cruiser, right in the shin...OUCH

Asleep, here's a left side plastic that sold on Ebay for $150:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Left-...spagenameZWDVW
You may want to consider having it repaired by a pro if you buy it...not sure if a body shop could fix it or not and if they could they may need to use fiberglass to reinforce the repair?

So I offered the guy $3300, and he said "How about 3550, because of the $400 I just put into it(hoses, front tire, etc)"
So I said I have $3300, and if I am patient, I bet I find one for $3000.
I am in no rush, and want to make sure I feel like I got a "deal"
ALSO, I found that other one in the classifieds on Craiglist...here is what he wrote back
"it was not fitted with
the super restrictive CA emission controls.
the cbr 1000 front and ohlins rear, have greatly improved the standard suspension.
it handles much better than stock. the sargent seat is a must for this bike. the
standard seat is very uncomfortable. the sprockets have been replaced with a
smaller chain (stock is very oversized for the bike). the gearing also makes the
bike faster.
K&N air and jet kit, aftermarket slipon exhaust.
can send other pictures later."

I think you're always better off buying from an enthusiast rather a "garage talker". Superhawks need to be ridden, regularly, to be at their best. If they sit in the garage for long periods of time the performance issues can be great. Guys that ride and love their machines know this, practice this, and they don't get this "garage cancer" that is bad-bad-bad for carbs set in.
If the bike starts right away and runs off clean - do not touch the throttle during initial warm up - it's all in the choke. Let it warm slowly - NEVER let it load.
If she comes up hitting every cylinder on the way to warm you have a winner.
