Hello Guys and Thank You!
I hope this post is in the right section:
Hello,
My name is Cedric (log on: Tofazfou) and i'm just writing to say THANK YOU guys for all the info on this forum. While i haven't posted here yet, i've lurked and read a lot of info that helped me get my newly "USED" VTR up to speed.
In the past, I owned a 1999 VTR1000 but had a major accident in 6-2001 right before 911. I haven't OWNED a bike since the accident. Well, i finally ran into some money and deciced to get back on the wagon...lol! A few months ago, i purchased a 2003 VTR with just under 17,000 miles on it for 2700 bucks.
I used to do all my own work on my VTR but i must admit, with a 12 year lay over, i've forgotten a lot and i've remembered little.... Thank to this forum and it's wealth of knowledge from the forum members, all that i forgot was "quickly" remembered. I just had to read it and boom, it all came back. And like many hear, my biggest lost of knowledge was those damned carbs. But the one thing about them that stuck in my head was the vacuum hose configurations and were each one went. It took me a total of 3x's taking the carbs and tank off to mess with the mixture screws. But that's a whole nother story....
