GSXR 6 Piston Caliper Questions

Can anyone clarify: I stumbled on a thread by Superhawk22 discussing using the 6 piston GSXR calipers with stock size rotors.... The way I understood it, is that that the stock rotor only partially fills these caliper, unlike stock calipers..... Is this so, though they bolt directly on, is this still better than the stock set-up? THanks, I am getting ready to do the swap and was wondering, especially since I just put new wave rotors on, if that has anything to do with it as well....

I think you may have read that too fast, (get it 2 phaast). The reason they didn't fit correctly on my bike was from the front end swap. I have '01 gsxr forks on my bike and the gsxr's have 310mm rotors while the SH has 296mm rotors, so when I put the new forks on the mounts didn't align with the rotors. A Superhawk with stock forks and rotors will line up perfectly with the calipers and no mods are needed.

the six piston calipers are awesome compared to the stock nissin's. you'll really like the upgrade if you do it.

Thanks all the the quick replies and info.... I can't wait to get them on.... I'm still in the middle of my engine rebuild..... hope to get it all assembled in the next couple of weeks (after 1 week family camp trip) so I can get it back in the bike with my new Penske double adjustable shock, Moriwaki rearsets, ceramic coated exhaust, and braced swingarm....
