Gear Shift Indicator - Anyone use one
Just completed a NESBA track day at Road America--great track, excellent ride (VTR), perfect weather and "sometimes no idea what gear I was in." RA is track where you can use all 6 gears. On the front straight I tried to get in 7th gear more than once and coming into the chicane after the Carousel I was going into 1st when 2nd would have done the job.
I googled "motorcycle gear indicators" and found them ranging from $220 to $29 Often, not always, you get what you pay for; that being said the $29 eBay item looks like it would serve my needs. Anyone use one of these

or what do you use, how easy was installation and what was the cost?

I don't think he's produced any for public consumption yet. I really like the one he produced that is integrated into the gauges because it is a slick and clean install however I don't think he's made more than a prototype.

ill get one from him aswell once hes ready.
the problem with the one listed is that if you click neutral instead of second, which does happen on these bikes, it might confuse it as it uses a magnet and a little pickup.
tweetys is set up like the more expensive ones i believe and ill get his once its ready.

I run a Starlane and its great for the track for a quick glance to be able to kno what gear your in. The thing cost about $100, works pretty fast almost instant, very visible and comes with a programable shift light bulit in. I got a 2001 Hawk and installation was somewhat surgical cutting into the harness, but it wasn't that bad and with the earlier gauges it looks to be a breeze.
