Are front turn signals also running lights?
Hey everybody - I just bought an 02' model. They previous owner installed flush mount turn signals, and the fronts are on all the time as running lights and work as turn signals. I also noticed in the wiring diagram three wires to lead to the front turn signals, and only two to the back. My question is, on the 02' model is it stock for the front turn signals to be on all the time as running lights? If not, what does the third wire do?
Thanks for any responses!

I have an 02 as well. Stock the front are running lights as well as turn signals. The rears are only on when the turnsignal is on.

Yes, hondas run the fronts as running lights, hence the extra power wire and dual filament bulbs. Most other makes and aftermarkets don't do this and I don't know why except for $ reasons.
That's why I changed the previous owner's flush mounts back to OEM. I prefer the running lights.

Re: Are front turn signals also running lights?
Thanks for the info - I appreciate the responses. To be honest, I wish I could switch back to the stock signals, but the previous owner drilled several nice holes in the fairing which wouldn't be covered by the stock ones so it looks like I'm stuck with what I have.

Can you get Flushmount LED's that are geared up the same as a dual filament bulb? I want the safety of the running lights but the sleek design of the flush mounts. I ordered some off of ebay, but the flushmounts are two wire and the instructions state that the running lights will not work..
Any help from the Gurus on here would be great.....

As discussed on the phone, www.vfxkits.com has a great setup. They act as running lights with variable intensity and also get the flash rate correct. I've had nothing but good luck with them.
Edit: It's the Running Light FX kit that you're looking for. Forgot to mention that they have 17 different flash modes too!

The ones from vfxkits.com. I went to their site and it didn't show one for the superhawk, but had the cbr's. I think there were 3 models, so I didn't know which one to go with.
Also, do any of you know of any other flush mount led lgihts that will fill the stock hole?

I actually have not even looked at the lights that VFX sells. I just use their flash equalizer and running light kits. I have Lockhart Phillips Type 4 -large on mine. There's a fairly recent thread on this somewhere....

I changed to the 3-wire Lockhart Phillips Type 3 front ts/rl and installed the oem ft ts in the rear and t'd in and ran the rr feed to the rr so I have rl ft & rr.
Much safer along with my red neon license plate surround tied into the brake circuit and twin 55w halogen driving lights. My radar/laser detector could also be considered a safety mod.

I bought a set of flushmount LEDs off Ebay, and they're too small for the stock holes (fall right through). They also don't have running lights. I'd actually added dual filament OEM signals to my tail signals, until I took them off to mount my high-mount pipes. I'm searching to find LED fronts that fit well (flush).
